My Steemians, happy new working day of the week! I am delighted to have you read through my post organized by Steemit Kids.
I am a Nigerian from the North Central part, of West Africa.

I want to talk about the experiences witnessed in Nigerians’ families on the effects of hardship on the economy particularly on my own side.

First of all, I want to look at effects as the end product of an act. Then hardships as difficulties encounter and economics as resources or wealth. And finally, families as father, mother, and children in a house.

In Nigeria today the economy is biting hard on the families of almost every Nigerian, especially the less privileged ones and I thought as if I was the only victim. Even though I am not.

Today about 90% - 95% of Nigerian families are living under the poverty level. A Nigerian family hardly afford two square meals/per day, and even if it can, it doesn't give perfect satisfaction.

The prices of essential commodities rise daily and the income remains static.
Most families including myself cut down our desires. Most of us gave up some things we used before.

Like myself, I gave up the soap used for bathing to the least soap which I use both for washing and bathing against my wish.

In fact, we are managing some local foods we neglected before. Thank God for this season where mangoes are available. Sometimes after we manage and have breakfast we rely on mangoes for that day.

Sometimes we go for compulsory half-fasting. In most cases, what we used to eat in a day is ration for two to three days. We resort to eating some food that we are not accustomed to.

I am also battling with my kids' school fees, their daily meals to school, and what to eat after. Apart from the compulsory learning materials for my children, I haven't bought any clothes for the family for some time now because we do battles daily to get the compulsory items that will be used to facilitate their learning.

Thank God that my place of assignment is not too far from where I am residing. On most occasions, I trek to the place of assignments against my wish which helps to save some cost. Most people trek to to and fro to places of assignments because high cost of living.

This is the story I want to share with you for now.

I want to thank you for your time for me.
And I want to invite @bonaventure24, @josepha to join the contest in this community and share their entry participation.

90-95 % ratio of poverty is big ration and what the hell your Government is doing for public? Can't they see actually situation of Nigeria. Families are surviving badly and crime is increasing 😭 according to me current government needed to be replaced by someone who can take positive action

Greetings,
This economic meltdown has made the income of workers become useless in the sight of billings. Imagine billing becoming greater than the income itself.
How can an employee spend 70% of his or her income on Transportation. At this point, what will that individual have to survive? I hope this issue should be looked into thoroughly. Good luck on your entry.

That is reality. We gave up most things we did before and had to cut down to allow us to fit into current realities. The situation isn't funny anymore and I think stringent measures are needed this time to measure up to this dark moment. Success with your entry.
