It's time, wake up Emmy, my Mom whispered to me. It was barely 6am in the morning, I was suppose to get ready for our flight (my first flight) to Lagos State Nigeria. It was a vacation.

To be honest, I was visibly scared. Have you ever wondered what it feels like to sit on a chair at the height of 45,000 feet above the ground. It amazes me whenever I see how big an airplane is, and it's still able to move on air like the birds.

After eventually doing the needful such as the security checks and others, we headed for the departure hall. Few minutes later, announcement was made that our flight was ready. We moved in the plane, settled down and we took off.

Having aerophobia, I got my head bent down, closed my eyes and prayed to fall asleep. My Mom tapped me, smiled and assured me saying; why are you scared? Don't worry this is the safest and fastest means of transportation.

Hearing the word safest, I got courage 😊 and decided to have a glimpse of what the world looks like under. It was a great view keeping me glued to the window till the end of our flight which lasted for 45 minutes.

An aeroplane is a vehicle designed for air travel, that has wings and one or more engines. An airplane is powered by a kind of fuel and a propeller. It has the capacity to displace air despite the weight. Some planes fly faster than the speed of sound, they've known as supersonic planes. This air vehicle is controlled by two pilots and a navigator.

The first aeroplane was created in December 17, 1903 by Wilbur and Orville Wright known as the Wright Brothers. After their invention, other engineering scientist took it up and began creating and adding more features.

Aeroplanes over the years has served as the fastest and also the safest means of transportation. An airplane has been used in some many fields such as agriculture, sport, security etc.

There are two major types of aeroplane. They are:

1. Passengers plane: This is mainly built for the transportation of people. It can be used for commercial services, private use(owning a private jet) and military surveillance or attack
2. Cargo planes: Massive in structure, specifically designed for the movement or shipp

An airplane very massive in size, hence it has many parts. The main parts includes;
• Wings
• Cockpit
• Engine
• Assembly
• Landing gear
• Fuse lage
• Propeller
• Tail

The air transport is of advantages in different ways

1. Speed: The fastest means of transportation is by air, and the aeroplane moves by in a range of 700 - 950 km/h
2. Comfort: Comfortability is one assurance of using an aeroplane, refreshment and others.
3. Safety: there's is high chances of safety against attacks. More like on the highway we hear about armed robbery, traffic and kidnapping
4. Accessibility : Ability to travel around, above the sea and deserts
5. Relaxation
6. Efficiency
7. Convenience

1. Risk: It is termed as the riskiest mode of transportation because there can be loss of goods, passengers and crew due to minor crash
2. Cost: The cost of boarding an airplane in most countries are not affordable for the average citizen.
3. Limited capacity: It is limited because an airplane is designed to carry a certain number of passengers.
4. Uncertain and unreliable
5. Not good for cheap and bulky goods

In summary, the invention of aeroplanes has remarkably shaped human life. It has made the world more accessible, connectable , driving economic and cultural development. For the sake of the future, we have to make it possible to balance the benefits of air travel with it implications towards a sustainable trajectory....
