"Weekly Contest 18 || The Diary Game || Village Vibes: A Day of Delight”
Salutations my beloved Steemians world wide.
I'm @emishael60 from #nigeria
I know the lifestyle in the city is quite different from the lifestyle here in the village. However, anywhere I am, I must eat😋very well. Whatever ever I do, I'll always be appreciative to God for life in all. My Day in the Village continues we haven't yet gone back to our house in the city. We still have some days left to spend here at the village, let's see how today goes.
My Morning Activities |
---|
Up and grateful 🤗. I woke up early, feeling the cool fresh breeze on my face. I began my day with my usual morning activities. First, I brushed my teeth and washed my face. Then, I helped my cousins in sweeping the compound.

After that, we all sat together, prayed, and thanked God for the day and meal he had given to us. We all had our breakfast; the tea was warm and comforting, followed by slices of bread, just what I needed to start my day.

After drinking my tea, I decided to take a walk to my grandma's farm. The sun was just rising, which made the weather a little bit warm. My walk to the farm was peaceful and sweet I could hear the rustling of leaves and the little sounds of birds.
The Afang leave farm |

When I reached the farm, the Afang leaves were growing well, and the farm was filled with fresh air. I spent some time there, helping my grandma, my aunty, and my uncle to sell the Afang leave in bulk to the market women. They were all enjoying my help and company.
My Afternoon Activities |
---|
By the time afternoon came, we were already back home after the long sales at the farm. I started to feel a terrible headache. There was no chemist shop nearby, so I was asked to drink coconut 🥥 water. My cousins helped me to plug the coconut From the coconut tree. I cracked it open and drank the water.
Me drinking the coconut water and hoping for the headache to be gone. |

It was cool and refreshing, and after a while, my headache started to go away. I felt much better and was ready to continue with my day. It was like magic, the headache gone so quickly. I was so happy and thankful.
Later in the afternoon, my sister and I were asked to go to the market to buy some foodstuff. We needed to get chicken, plantains, and potatoes. The market was busy and full of people. They were selling all kinds of things like fruits, vegetables, spices, and more. We walked around, picking out the best items we needed.
We headed to the area mainly for people selling meat.👇
And We bought a nice, lab of chicken. We bought unripe plantains and some potatoes. The market was noisy and lively, and the prices of foodstuffs were so costly. Below is the list of what we bought and their prices in Steem and Naira.
ITEMS | PRICES |
---|---|
Chicken | 15 steem (4500 naira) |
Plantains | 10 steem (3000 naira) |
Potatoes | 8 steem (2400 naira) |
Scent leaf | 1 steem (300 naira) |
Total | ***34 steem (10,200 naira) |
Those were the few things we bought from the market. On reaching home, we decided to make rice and stew with chicken as our Lunch. It was later prepared by Mum; I helped her in chopping the meat and washing it into a plate ready to be cooked.👇
Mum seasoned the chicken and cooked it until it was tender and flavorful. My sister later came in to assist my mum while I went out to meet a friend who had been calling to see me.
My delicious lunch is ready |

I came back, and the meal was done; the delicious Rice and stew were ready to be lavish. But even with that, I didn't forget to Thank God, our dear creator, for the food. My mouth was watery and my eyes were shining to consume the food. The rice and stew were delicious. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the stew was rich and tasty. We all enjoyed the meal very much. After we finished eating, we cleaned up and then went outside to relax. I enjoyed the meal so much with my family members.
My Evening Activities |

My Uncle's pineapple farmland |
---|
In the evening, my uncle received a call that someone needed pineapple in bulk. I escorted my uncle to his farm to sell his pineapples to the buyer. I can see that farming brings more income in this life. We later head back home after the sales.
We sat outside with our relatives, enjoying the cool evening air. We laughed, shared stories, and played some local games. My little cousins were running around, playing, and having fun. We, the adults, chatted and laughed about all that had happened throughout the day. It was a wonderful time, full of joy and togetherness. Mum later served us a delightful dinner of porridge plantain, and potatoes.
My sweet dinner |
---|
The porridge potatoes and plantain were warm, delicious, and comforting in taste. The meal was a perfect end to our day.As the night grew more darker than before, we continued to sit outside, enjoying each other’s company. The stars in the sky began to twinkle and shine brighter. We couldn't sleep that soon because the environment was filled with fresh cool breeze and the sounds of crickets in the bushes around was disturbing too. However, It was a peaceful and happy evening, surrounded by all our family, and it was a simple pleasure of village life.
I felt grateful for the day and for the time spent with my loved ones. Today is a day filled with simple joys and happy moments, a moment that I will always remember fondly.
I'll love to invite:-@goodybest,@ngoenyi,@saintkelvin17 |
