I'm here to participate in these very food challenges that were conducted by @steemkidss, so I'm using this medium to invite @damithudaya @bossj23 @ruthjoe and @mratik to engage in this contest.

        Okro and bushmango recipe 😋

These are all the items and with the prices that I used for preparing my okro soup.

  • okro ----400
  • bushmango --- 500
  • dry fish ---1,000
  • Palm oil ---- 1,200, but i didn't use all.
  • stockfish ---- 400
  • seasoning cubes ---- 200
  • skin meat ---- 500
  • crayfish ---- 500
  • salt
  • pepper ----- 300

All of these items were bought with Nigeria currency, which is naira, and the total of all was 5,000 naira converting to steem currency is 17.00 steem.

          Step one.

I started washing my okro with water before cutting it, and it was not all the okro that I cut. I equally grind some with my slicer to help the bushmango to make the soup thicker.

          Step two.

Then i have to wash my skin meat and cut it into pieces. After that, I also make my dry fish ready.

          Step three.

After getting all the cooking stuff ready, i have to place my pot on fire and add a normal quantity of water. I also added stockfish inside to enable it to get soft.

          Step four.

In this stage, the soup was already boiling, and then i started to introduce my seasoning cubes, grounded pepper, palm oil, crayfish, and skin meat as well. I also mixed the bushmango with the palm oil together before I added it, and my reasons why i did that was to help the bushmango to dissolve well. The reason why I didn't add my skin meat to cook together with the stockfish was that the skin meat was already soft.

          Step five.

After some minutes that i introduced all the things in step four, then i added my grounded okro and covered it to cook for a minute.

         Step six.

Here is when I'm about to add the okro that I cut, and also, in this particular stage was the time i added my dry fish. I chose to add it late so that it won't scatter into pieces inside the pot. It was also the period that i added salt to it. After everything, i tested it to know if there's any lacking items so that i can add or adjust them. That's the essence of testing.

Lastly, my okro soup is ready, as you can see moving on to take a selfie 🤳 with my soup. In my country, Nigeria okro soup is the most shipper soup that even makes common man can afford it, but now it's very hard for some individuals to afford it.
