SEC17 WK:#3: large and small families, likes and dislikes

Good morning steemians and hope you are all having wonderful and smooth week, Last week engagement challenge topics were amazing, but for this week, I must comment that it is a week with most interesting topics to choose from. However, the steem kids has brought to us an exciting topic which lay more impact on family, as we will know more about large and small families including likes and dislikes.

However, this brings us back to know what family really is, here in my own opinion, I would not only say family are group of people which are related by blood that lives together, cause there will be a point in time were they will grow apart, so I would best describe family as group of people which are related by genetics or through legal system ( marriage, adoption) and are recognise through the system as one.

We have mainly two types of family that is really recognise, which are, nuclear family and extended family but for the purpose of this contest, I would only be discussing about the nuclear family.

• NUCLEAR FAMILY
  Nuclear family could be best described as a family which is constituted of father, mother and child or children.

According to it words, "large" and "small" in my own opinion, large family consist of children mostly five or above, some people will say three or above, but for me, three children seems moderate enough and small family consist or one to three children.

Despite the fact both large and small families can be of good advantage,but sometimes, it can also have its disadvantages, especially when it comes to large. In Nigeria today, seeing the way things are going, I could only say having large family won't be really advisable, I could even add by saying the most number of children which one family should have in this time is three, which the third child will make up for people who cannot actually bear children.

• My Likes about large family If you read down to this point, you won't see throwing hate to large family or people that chooses it, like I said there are certain advantage which happens to be my likes, which includes:

Accomplishment of task (Contributions) Large families which are well brought up, can make a lot of contributions, like in terms of marriage ceremony, burial ceremony, taking care of aged parent, or when there is pressing needs were one or two cannot handle, they could also help task in the house to be easily accomplished without much struggle

Expansion of family size With large families, the size of the family will often grow very fast. This happens when the children get their own family and it keeps going that way.

In terms of fun Large families tends to have more fun than small family unit, the fun large families do have can't be compared to what small families have, you can never be bored in a large family.

• Dislikes about large families One of the things which I dislike about large families is certainly Jealousy, I made mention of how people chooses to go for large because of the future uncertainty (not knowing who will make it) this is more reason why jealousy often set in, this jealousy could grow to hate sometimes, if it could not be control.

• Likes about small family
  Ability to raise them; one of the reasons I like family with small size,is the ability to raise, due to the current economic situation, we can see how lot of people are struggling to feed themselves, so there won't be lot of struggles trying to feed one or three children.

Strong relationship bond small family really helps in creating a very good relationship bond, this is mostly rare in large families where parent may not be able to give in much attention to all their needs and won't really have time cause of how they are trying to work in other to provide for the family.

• Dislike about small families:
  Task around would be so hectic and most task will be difficult to carry out, as more hands would be needed for it to be done.

Having looking at it, I would say both families could make it up in their own way, but small family is really what I will go for.

In conclusion, as said, both families could be good in its own diverse ways, every individual will have it own different opinion of which family to go for, but deep down, looking at the way things are going, awareness should be created in other to also let people understand the cause effect of large families, most on the disadvantages of it, how it may affect the society, cause in my own review, one of the major cause or one that constitute to the problems we have today is high population, so families should try to curtail in having plenty children in other for them to have the ability raise them well and not in struggle especially for the low class of mid class people, which the large families maybe really from them.
