Homework post on purposes of marriage by @dorismos || 21-7-22

Greetings to everyone in this community. I'm so much elated I'm doing homework again. My special thanks goes to @udyliciouz for unceasingly teaching us important topics like this. Last week, I learnt a lot about living together as one family, the advantages of doing so and the disadvantages of not doing so. This week is on purposes of marriage and my answer to the questions below shows how I understand the topic.

What is marriage?
List and explain steps to take towards marriage that is peculiar to your country customs and traditions
Explain at list two preconditions for marriage that is common in your locality.

What is marriage? One may ask. Is it taking a woman in and showing her love? Or is it impregnating a woman first before showing yourself to her parents? Marriage is far from these. Marriage lies on two important context legally accepted relationship and binding contract or bond between two persons.

Marriage is defined as that relationship between a man and a woman who are to become husband and wife [ ] which is legally accepted in the society as a whole.

List and explain steps to take towards marriage that is peculiar to your country customs and traditions.

There are several steps one should take before marrying which is locally accepted in the society. You can't just wake up and say you want to marry @dorismos. There are certain steps you must take before marriage. One of such is:

• Developing interest: This occurs when a man observes a woman and develops interest in her for two or more features or qualities she displays. The woman on the same vein will have to develop interest in him to become her future man. If the wife doesn't develop interest to love the man, the marriage won't work and paradventure it works, it wont last.

• Courtship: In biology, the word courtship is used mostly in display or in relationship between two person or organisms. This occurs when a man and a woman have a relationship after developing interest for each other with the intention of getting married.

Most times, relationships like this take place but layer on, one party may choose not to proceed with the marriage. Courtship is when a man proposes to a woman his desire to become her man and to settle down as one flesh.

Like I said earlier, courtship is usually a form of display. In some organisms, and in humans, getting to know the attitude, qualities, likes and dislikes of each other is always known

• Engagement: is when a man after developing interest in her and proposing, he offers an engagement ring to her. Engagement is a period of time between the marriage proposal and marriage. Once the engagement ring is worn, it shows the man is ready to marry her.

• Marriage ceremony: This is a joyous ceremony where both parties are officially called husband and wife

Explain at list two preconditions for marriage that is common in your locality

• The couples to be should not live together or do any misconduct before marriage. This is especially prevalent in my locality. Both of them will live together and see if they can bear children before marriage. If the wife to be can't bear a child, the husband would find another.

• Bride price: This is very very essential and inescapable..For every marriage to hold, there must be bride price. They consider this a must because you can't just take a child out of her parents home and say you want to marry her. You must pay what that girl's parents spent on her and the rest. You must also settle the community since the child also belong to the community.
