Greetings to everyone in this community most especially to the kids involved in this lesson. I'm so much happy to be participate in homework post. This lesson taught by @ taught me great lessons concerning choosing a business name, not just anyhow business name but an appropriate name that matches with whatever services our business provides so as to add more relevance and attract potential customers. I've also learnt how. The tips i saw on how to create a perfect name for our business is quite applicable and appreciated.
The most important factor is to choose a name that you like! It is your business and you have to build it.
Choose a name which relates to your kind of business
Find a name that doesn’t exist or which is not in use and the best way to do it is to search “Aunty Google”.
Choose a name which is not difficult to spell like “Facebook”. Choose short names which have a “ring” to the ear.
Don’t choose a name which does not limit your business. In other words choose a name which is applicable to many things like “Cloud”. If you make it “Cloud books” you are limited to books but with the name “Cloud” you can start with books but add on products as your business and needs grows.
Make sure that the name domain name (website name) is available. Also make sure that it available as a .com domain. In other words, choose a name which is “web friendly” Example: “www.cloud.com”
Also make sure that the name of your business is social media friendly. You will have to do some investigation on all the social media platforms.
Never pick a name which is similar to that of your competitors or pretty soon they will sue you. Get the opinion of other people like your family and friends
Choosing a name for your business is exciting and it should be fun therefore you must enjoy it and you must put an effort into it.....

| Acorn Crafts | Craft shop | I can perfectly say this is a to match business name for its nature. The business name is emphasizing crafts and the word Acorn can simply be a name of someone or something. So matching it with Craft as a craft shop can quickly tell someone that this is what is done here. The person doesn't need to stress in understanding the business name because you can't say Acorn Craft and what you are marketing in Acorn Craft is shoes or clothes. |
| **Aims | Digital creating services** | Actually, this business name seems to match with the nature of the business because Aims is a general word for target, vision and goals. Although it may sound matured in the mind of the business creator but if someone sees the name of this business, he might be confused about knowing what is done there or the services provided there. Although aims is likely channelled to technological experience, hardly a person would know what is the mission and vision of that business. |
| Beet Box Café | Take-away | Looking at the word Cafe, we can rightly say it's a small establishment otherwise known as restaurant where refreshments are served. So naming it with takeaway in view seems restrictive because it's not everyone that would be love to takeaway. That café should just be like a relaxed atmosphere where one eat and is refreshed. So seeing takeaway might impart in a potential customer's mind that it's just for purchase and nothing less, nothing more. |
| Blue Kite Web Solution | Website designers | This business name and its nature is very much fitting because Web is attached to the name of the business. So any potential customer seeing this wouldn't need a second thought as to what is done there in correspondence with the nature.... |

Exploration Kids - I do believe that the kids will be exploring words and a new word will be opening to them when they start reading. The problem I have is little kids remembering and pronouncing the word "exploration"
Acorn Crafts - People might also think that it is a craft shop only selling items made from acorns.
Aims - you are spot on! It can relate to any kind of business and therefor it is a great name for a business. You can also add to it. Aims Marketing.. Aims Digital.. Aims Crafts ?
Beet Box Café - Correct! Not a good name for a take-away.
