Bullying has been increasingly common in recent years at both boarding and day schools. There have been a number of terrible incidents involving children who have died.

1. Departure

The youngster will spend much of his time alone and will only engage with people on rare occasions. Make every attempt to figure out what's causing his shift in attitude.

2. Food and money requests are made on a regular basis.

Bullying is evident if your child is at boarding school and is always seeking food and money despite the fact that you are providing for him. Bullies typically deprive bullied youngsters of food and money, forcing the child to seek more resources from his parents.

3. Requesting to be excused from school

Many kids like going to school, but if yours is asking to go, he or she is most certainly being bullied.

A youngster who is having difficulties at school will request his parents to transfer him to a different school. Parents should pay greater attention when their children want a change of school and not force the child to remain.

4. Always scared of noise.

If a child is scared of even the smallest noise, he will be bullied. Keep a close check on your youngster for any unusual behavior. Check to see whether his behavior has changed since he started boarding school.

5. Always making excuses to avoid school.

---

When your child invents numerous excuses to avoid returning to school or returning home from boarding school. The youngster may even claim to be ill in order to avoid returning to school.

This is why it is suggested that parents establish a healthy relationship with their children; this will help youngsters to feel safe enough to tell their parents about their concerns.
