Responsibility for elderly parents

The best people to stay with, the best people to share with and the best set of people to learn from are the elderly parents. Good enough, our elderly parents we born in days that the world is not as spoilt as this therefore, they were morally trained and learning from someone who has all of this in mind is just the best. My sincere appreciation goes to @afrinn and the entire community for organising such an interesting contest.

Who is responsible for taking care of and serving elderly parents?

The children are responsible for taking good care of our elderly parents. What they went through in those days was never close to our life of enjoyment these days. They learn through the though way and raised us to be come what we are today so, we the children are much responsible for taking care of our elderly parents today.

We need to be responsible for their upkeep, bath, good health and emotional feelings. All they need right now is just love and love in avoidance before they finally rest because no one will ofcourse live forever.

What should be the attitude towards elderly parents in society?

Respect! Respect should be the attitude towards our elderly parents. They need to be respected and valued. They feel frustrated and humiliated when we talk back at them and that will not be all, our children will definitely retaliate in the future to come.

Most times, obeying their instructions comes with blessings so I see no reason why elderly parents should be treated with somuch disobedience. I have witnessed where a lady was beating an woman to death and that was a great cause.

How can the dignity and security of elderly parents be ensured in society?

This can be ensured when especially the wives of their grown up children are respectful and good hearted because as an elderly person, their security and dignity can never be assured if people who lives around them does not like them especially those ladies who are married into a particular family. Alot has happened whereby food will not be given to old mother's because most young people assume they are witches and wizards but that's not all true. So, we must be careful and them make sure their security are ensured.

What steps should be taken to protect the mental and physical health of elderly parents?

First of all, loving them is the first step. Loving them entails acknowledging that they are elderly and they need to be loved and cared for. Mentally, our elderly ones need to be loved and cared for, they need to be felt loved and specialist.

Physically cares rings bell to every elderly person especially those old elderly parents. The fact remains that, they have somuch suffered so all they need is to be loved, they need to smile at every seconds of their live too.
