Socialization is the gradual process of adopting values in the home, school, church and society at large through a process which begins from childhood all the way to adulthood. Socialization entails learning the way of life of various tribes, imbibing various virtues and lifestyle into one life, incorporated as part of day to at activities in the society.

Socialiazation has various significances and this would be explained by me in my own level of understanding. Therefore the significance of socialiazation are thus;

Sense Of Responsibility

Socialiazation shapes the behavioural conduct of individuals, giving them a sense of responsibility. Seeing to it that rules, regulations, tenets and lifestyle of a people are upheld in the society in the fight against irresponsibility in the society.

The socialization is a major instrument of socialiazation, as it enables people of different race, tribe and even nationality, cohabiting in a place to be able to share ideas, emotions, values and exchange opinions, rub minds together, brainstorm and produce results in business, thereby achieving the goal of interaction.

These values passed from one generation to another impacts the younger generation therefore nurturing them on how to inculcate values, virtues and preparing them for greater days ahead of them. Nurturing their feelings, lifestyle and a host of other essential character they portray.

Socialiazation aids the framework of moral conduct. Good moral conduct is passed down to younger generation. A place where courtesy, moral values and respectful conducts are successfully taught young ones, therefore enabling them to be the best in the society at large and law-abiding citizens for the state.

Formal Learning:
Socialization is basically taught through formal learning,it is also called active socialiazation where kids come to a school with well qualified tutors and educated staff who teach them basic values and ethics enabling them to be literates and conquering various spheres of their academics such as verbal reasoning, Grammer and phonetics, arithmetic and logic reasoning, amidst other great learning genres too.

Informal Learning:
This process of socialization involves learning which is taught outside the walls of the citadel or school. These learning process of socialiazation is also the passive socialiazation. A socialiazation where young ones are taught through moral instructions from parents and elders, parables and proverbs to teach them certain values, good courtesy, feeding habit, personal hygiene and a host of other values to be taught in the process of socialiazation.

Peer Pressure Influence:
Most young teens and adolescent socialize more and faster with peers, therefore there peers should be scrutinized to avoid the bad friends influencing them negatively by teaching them harmful social vices in the process of socialiazation. Therefore peer pressure Influence can be a major process of socialiazation in individuals.

Internet and Mass Media:
This seems to be the highest process of socialiazation for young kids today.its always on the internet, learning new things on the internet and connecting with friends all over the world, as a process of socialiazation. These individuals learn a whole lot of things from the internet and Mass Media and thus this is the greatest factor in the process of socialiazation.

Contents young people watch on the internet should be properly scrutinized to avoid learning bad vices and other illegal activities to practice during socialiazation. The mass media also teaches people socialiazation. They listen to music and follow latest trends too. The overall well being of individuals is the aim of socialiazation
