Social Studies Lesson: Safety in the home and school

Hello and welcome to today's social studies lesson. I am really happy to join you guys in this class. Safety is something we should try hard to provide for ourselves, as it helps keep us safe and free from harm.

meaning of "safety"

Safety is everything we have to do in order to make sure that no harm comes to us or our property. Good safety measures will help ensure that our environment is safe and healthy for people to live in. I will conclude by saying that safety is the means by which lives are kept safe and prevents accidents from happening.

Safety in the environment is a process by which we take all the preventive measures to see that the environment is clean and harmless to us. Most times, we tend to make our environment really harmful to us and refuse to keep it safe for ourselves. Some harmful things that can cause harm to our lives and flesh include the dumping of refuse, pieces of broken bottles on the floor, water in the tiles, and so many more. We should work hard to see that we prevent these home accidents from happening, as they will cause so much damage to our bodies and also to our health.

Things we can do to make sure our homes are safe

1. Sweeping them always
2. Covering gutters that are near our homes as they might attract mosquitoes.
3. Removing unwanted bushes near our homes as they might attract harmful reptiles.
4. Planting flowers in every corner of our house, as they will help to bring more oxygen.
5. Removing cobwebs from the corners of our house

Measures that should be taken to ensure safety at school

1. Ensuring that there is a good and functioning small school hospital in case any student gets hurt or ill
2. Preventing the students from climbing trees, as they might fall and get injured.
3. Making sure that there are enough flowers planted in the school environment for the students to breathe in oxygen.
4. The use of chemicals in the laboratories should be under the teachers' advice and permission.
5. Well-treated and pure water should be made available in the school for the students.

In every job we do, we should be well-observant and careful, because we might get the injury of our lives. Here are some measures to promote safety in our workplace:

1. Workers should only take alcohol when they are off from work and not when they are present at work.
2. Workers can be protected from harm with the use of safety tools like hand gloves, helmets, and others.
3. The owners should appoint one member to act as a supervisor and to punish those who break the safety measures in the workplace.
