Describe A Frog

Frogs can described as a small creature with a smooth skin, long back legs and protruding eyes with no tail and is classified as an amphibian that has the ability to live both on land and water. It mostly feeds of varieties of diet like insects, spiders, worms, slugs, larvae and small fish.

What's the difference between toad and frog (give 3 differences of your choice and why you say so)

Frogs and toads are often mistaken to be the same because they belong to the same class of amphibians but there are quite some difference between then and I will list three of it.

  • By Appearance: frogs looks lean and slender with a smooth and moist skin why that of toad looks shorter with a dry and studdy skin.

  • By skin color: frogs are more brighter, they are easily known with bright green or yellow-green while toads are more darker and are easily known with dark green or shade of olive green.

  • By habitat: Both animal have the ability to live on land and water.
On the side of frog it mostly live on water though it also stay on land but it doesn't stay farther from water while on the side of toad it majorly stay on land than it stay in water.

What can we learn from the life style/life cycle of a frog, what do they eat?

Frogs are unique creatures that are mostly noticed by its call(sound), their call are often heard from afar. As an animal that lives on water they absorb water mostly through their skin rather than drinking the water.

Also, frogs swallow by pushing its eyes down into the roof of it's mouth to help push down the food to it's throat. They are very sensitive to movement and can jump 20 times of their body size before a human makes a single jump.

They eat varieties of diets like insects, spiders, worms, slugs, larvae and small fish.

Have you seen one before? If yes, where?

I stay in southern part of Nigeria known as riverine area. So frogs can be considered a regular animal there and yes I have seen frogs countless times.

They disturb a lot especially in raining season, do you like their disturbances, what can you do to avoid their disturbances?

Frogs disturb alot during rainy season because of their call(sound) and it can even be heard from afar. Not only that they can even jump on someone once you come close to where they're.

On the side of how I can avoid their disturbance, frogs are seen in a place covered with dirty water such as a gutter and to avoid that one needs to clear the gutter and keep the environment clean.

Are they important to man, what significant role do they play in humans life? If none still tell us

Frogs are very important to man in many ways. Frogs eat many insects like mosquitoes (that disturbs man), pests (that disturbs crops planted by man). The muscular legs of a frog serves as food to some part of the country and are linked to food chain that are essential to the balance of ecosystem.

Also, some captive bred of frogs gotten from local pet store can be kept as a pet but one needs to follow instructions on how to maintain and keep it.

If they are dangerous to man tell us their dangerous part

Some specie of frogs are dangerous to man because many of them have bacteria, parasites, and can give salmonella infection which are harmful to man when kept as pet. Frogs also secrete toxins from their body and if mistakenly licked has serious repercussions.

Some part of the country eat it, so tell us have you eaten it before?

Frogs are taken as food in Asian continent with countries like China, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia. I have never tasted frog before and I am not planning to.

Conclusion

This is the end of my description of the frog. Frogs are different from toad and should not be taken as one.

I invite @starrchris, @kemeagadaga and @jueco to participate in this contest

Hola amiga me encanto mucho tu dibujo y como explicaste el paso a paso, las ranas son buenas en los huertos porque suelen comer los insectos, pero muchas especies son dañinas para los humanos. Muy buena participación
