More Holiday Fun!
Our holiday fun activities continued. I had made plans to make it a memorable one for the kids. In that vein, we decided to celebrate the birthdays of the children born in the month of August in my home(my son and his cousin). We baked a cake for them and made a decoration with both blue and pink colours which represented the boy and the girl in that way they get to share the same cake. Isn't that beautiful?!
It is paramount that every child enjoys the summer holidays by engaging in interesting activities at home that take their minds off school work in the meantime. I am of the opinion that they should take a break from school activities rather than being enrolled in extra lessons during the summer hoildays. I believe these give them the opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends as well as gain new experiences from their surroundings.
However, if they must attend any classes this holiday, it should be classes that are interesting and give them an opportunity to acquire or learn new skills. Classes such as a music class, swimming class, DIY class, and the likes of them.
They should be encouraged to read for pleasure in a relaxed environment. There should be planned trips and outdoor activities for them to socialize and bond with family and friends. All these help them relax from the pressure of academic work, improve their health development, and resume back to school feeling refreshed and energetic.
So back to our holiday fun, It has been a noisy and busy home filled with love and enjoyable moments. A few days back, i took the children out for a little grocery shopping.
We went to the mall, bought a few groceries needed at home like friuts, vegetables, drinks, beverages and toiletries. The chlidren where exicted and wanted ice cream, so we bought a big bowl before heading home.
When we got home, we decided to watch a movie that was downloaded earlier for the kids. The movie title is "Despicable Me 2". Before diving into the movie, we made a big pot of pop corn to go with the ice cream we bought at the mall earlier.
The children had a wonderful time eating the pop corn and ice cream while watching the movie. After the movie, the kids discussed amongst themselves how the movie made them feel.
