Update #60: Writing Expedition ✍️. Write On Monday..(Hydration/Dehydration).

Before I proceed I would like to express my profound joy writing on this platform in steem kids and parents community. It’s another beautiful week on writing expedition and today am going to share with you guys on the topic hydration/dehydration. I hope you all are doing good I still remain my humble self @chigraze. Now let’s quickly talk about hydration and dehydration(water).

What Is Hydration?

In a layman’s understanding hydration means drinking liquids (water or juice) or eating watery foods to add back the water the body looses through breathing, sweating, or discharge of faeces from the body. It is also the replacement of lost fluids in the body particularly water. When we talk of hydration it’s the process of providing adequate fluids to the body to enable proper physiological functions. As we all know, water carries out various functions which includes excreting waste products, maintaining body temperature, oxygen to cells, lubricate joints and breaking down nutrients. That is why we should often take fluids to prevent dehydration the human body is 60 - 70% fluids by weight out of the fluids 10% is blood then 50% of the total fluid is in cells. That why I drink a lot of water especially in the morning time

What Are They Benefits Of Being Hydrated?

There are numerous benefits of water and also staying hydrated which includes;

  • Gets rid of wastes through faeces, sweating, urinations and bowel movements.

  • it improves the body system, skin health and also glows.

  • it’s helps the memory in terms of clearer thinking and cleverness.

  • Staying hydrated helps to clear stubborn weight that seemed difficult to adjust.

  • it’s provides energy level and protects the spinal cord, organs,joints and sensitive tissues.

Is Water The Only Choice To Stay Hydrated?

Water is not really the only choice when it comes to hydration there are other choices to get hydrated like the beverages, fruit juice, herbal teas, fruits (watermelon, orange and tomatoes) also add to the amount of water you get each day but plain water is still the best for staying hydrated.

Importance Of Staying Hydrated.
Enough intake of water each day is crucial for many significant reasons;
  • Aid digestion and also prevents constipation. This is a common problem in both younger and older individuals lower intake of water consumption poised to be a risk factor.

  • Drinking plenty of water can help you lose weight.

  • it replenish and keeps your body cool regulating system.

How Do You Tell The Color Of Your Urine Health Status?

Most times your urine indicates your health conditions you must address. The color of our urine changes depending on the intake of water drink each day. Urine naturally carries a yellow pigment or color, when you get dehydrated your urine becomes a deep light brown while hydration shows that your urine would be light yellow i.e close to clear.Now let me illustrate color urine charts below are they different urine colors and what they mean;

⚪️ This is clear and it signifies that a person is drinking too much water it’s normal.

🟠 This is orange pigment in urine and it’s a sign that a person is not drinking enough water. Although Some certain multivitamins and medications can orange colored urines no need to panic it’s also not bad.

🟤 This is dark brown urine color and this is not good at all it means that a person has medical conditions which indicates liver and kidney disorder and diseases.

🔴 Red is an indication of blood in the urine. Blood in the urine doesn’t always mean you have a disease they’re commonly caused by foods like strawberry or beetroot. In some cases it could be a sign to health problem.

⬜️ Cloudy here shows a sign of urinary tract infection.

What Is Dehydration?

Dehydration occurs when you loss fluids in your body usually caused by illness, headaches, sweating or in adequate intake of water.it could lead to some serious complications including heat injury, kidney and urinary problems especially prolonged dehydration causes urinary tract infections, kidney stones and even kidney failure. It’s also causes low blood volume shock and this is one of the life threatening problems of dehydration.

How To Prevent Dehydration.

These are they simple ways to prevent dehydration;

  • To prevent dehydration make sure you drink plenty of fluids and foods high in water too e.g fruits, beverages and vegetables.

  • Alway make sure to increase your fluid intake before or after a workout very important.

  • Always reach out to a drinking water whenever you feel thirsty do not prolong.

How Can You Tell If You Feel Dehydrated?
Below are they signs to know when you feel dehydrated:
  • Dry saliva or dry tongue.
  • Headaches.
  • Confusion or lack of concentration.
  • Feeling thirsty.
  • Clouded thinking.
  • Dark yellow urine.
Conclusion.

Regular intake of fluids like fruit juice, water and certain foods with high water content contributes to a good hydration. Proper hydration is very Curial for overall health and well-being. So keep your body in balance by taking more water and stay hydrated.
