This is a complex topic as many people talk about freedom but do not know about their responsibilities. Freedom comes with responsibilities and when claiming freedom, be rest assured to take responsibility for your actions. That said, permit me to share my thoughts about the topic based on the guiding questions that follow 👇👇.

What do you understand to be freedom as a parent or kid?

As a parent and a human rights activist, when we talk of freedom, it refers to a situation where someone is given the privileges or rights to operate without constraints. This means that the person has the right to talk freely without fear, act freely and take decisions freely without constraints.

Freedom can be regarded as giving someone autonomy to act freely. Autonomy in the sense that you make your own rules and live without anyone controlling you.

As I earlier said, freedom comes with lots of responsibilities. But we often forget about our responsibilities and only emphasized freedom.

What can make you grant more freedom to your kids or what can you do to earn more freedom?

For someone to gain more freedom, we need to know our responsibilities and not cross boundaries. Remember your freedom ends when another person’s freedom starts.

I can grant more freedom to my kids if their actions prove that they are responsible. Kids that know their responsibilities will not overemphasize their freedom from being infringed upon.

Also, I can grant my kids more freedom if they make me trust them. Trust is something that makes parents infringe on the right of freedom for their kids. As kids, to gain more trust, always open up to your parents and listen to advice from them. Admit your mistakes when your parents point them out and apologise when necessary, etc. This way, you will gain your parent's trust and they will eventually grant you more freedom.

Advantages and disadvantages of freedom both to parents and kids.

The first advantage of freedom I know is that it makes someone to be happy. Happiness in the sense that you are free to make your choices without any constraints.

Also, freedom creates an atmosphere of self-expression in that it makes kids express themselves freely and creates avenues for creativity. As a kid, when you are allowed to express yourself freely, you turn to be more creative and share ideas with peers and parents freely.

One disadvantage of freedom is that it kind of promotes violence in society. When someone expresses his choices freely and another person does not agree with the said choices, conflict is bound to occur. That is, your choices may turn to hurt another person’s feelings and they turn to disagree. In the course of the argument, emotions might be uncontrollable and violence will be the order of the day.

Another disadvantage is that freedom can lead to infringement on another person's freedom especially when they do not have limits or know their responsibilities. You might be thinking you are exercising freedom meanwhile you are infringing on someone else freedom. The reason why I earlier said, your freedom ends when another person's freedom begins.

What can cause one to lose the freedom he or she has?

The first is when you are not responsible for your actions. When you do not admit your wrongdoing and apologise. This will cause your parents or guardians to constrain or infringe on your freedom.

Secondly, you can lose freedom when you are not trustworthy. Trust is very important if you want to gain more freedom from your parents. Trust also comes with lots of responsibilities.

Lastly, keeping bad friends or bad companions can limit your freedom as a kid. Bad friends can easily influence your choices in a negative way. Hence, you lose more freedom from your parents.

Hello friend, wonderful post. Truly, freedom is operating or acting without restrictions, but of course respecting the rules and being responsible. That's right, trust is what will give children greater freedom. If they prove to be responsible, honest and learn from their mistakes, they will be able to have freedom. Many successes in the contest, greetings!

Thank you for appreciating my presentation.
