INTRODUCTION

Good morning my wonderful steemkids and steemkid lovers. It is a pleasure to engage in this contest, about our kids education which is very important for their well-being.

WHAT IS EDUCATION?

It is a lifelong process of inculcating knowledge to individuals, which can be done formally or informally, in an organized or unorganized environment.

There 2 types of education, they are formal and informal education.

Formal Education as the name implies, is a type of education that is done in an organized environment, with a laid down rules and regulations with sanction for prospective defaulters and positive reinforcement for responsible learners, at which at the end of judicious study a certificate is presented. Examples of such formal education are primary school, secondary school and tertiary institutions. Teachers, Lecturers, pupils and students make it happen. There is an organized head from which orders come from.
Informal Education as the name equally implies is a type of education that has no proper organization, which is done primarily in the family by parents, siblings, uncles, aunties,etc. It can also be done by peer group, mass media, etc.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO A CHILD

A child is in need of education for the following reasons:

To be able to fit well into the society.
To know the acceptable norms and values in the society.
To gain employable skills and at the long run be contribute meaningfully to himself, family, community, state, Nation and World at large.
To stand out and be able to defend themselves against any form of intimidation.
To inculcate acceptable norms, mores, culture and tradition of the society from one generation to another.

AT WHAT AGE SHOULD A CHILD START LEARNING?

As far as education is concerned, it transcends from birth to death.
So education starts once a child is given birth to, and so it continues, because it is a lifelong process. This education is first of all informally taught by the family as the primary agent of socialization while others are secondarily transferred by other agents of socialization in both informal or formal setting; which includes:- mass media, peer group, School (Education).

WHAT IS DONE IN YOUR LOCALITY TO EMBRACE MODERN EDUCATION?

Embracing modern education is a gradual process, and not a spontaneous one.
Just like in the time past, pupils can comfortably go to school without footwear and they will joyfully carry there slate and be working to and fro school, teachers write on the black blood with different colours of chalk after class will be dusty because of the effect of chalk; the time of little or no instructional materials of which the best that can be gotten at that time was a sketch on card board sheet; the time of counting with udara seeds and soft drink covers, the list continues.

Gradually, that method of teaching and learning has\is phasing out; as most schools now make use of white board, more Sophisticated teaching aids; for instance; visual aids, audiovisual aids, etc for easy teaching and learning process.
Furthermore, there is modification of curriculum of all schools especially in the organized \formal level of learning; which includes: nursery, primary, secondary and tertiary institutions of learning.
In the nursery, they make more use of the audio, audio visual methods of learning, to improve their cognitive, affective and psychomotor development, as the nursery stage is a formation stage.

Also, there is organised rules and regulations that is formulated, to help curb the excesses of the informed. This will help guide their actions and inactions.
Like in the in the family, punishments like skipping meal, flogging, etc can be used to mould the child.
Interestingly, Teachers are at intervals allowed to participate in workshops, conferences, seminars, and other intellectual exercises that will keep them updated in recent ways of achieving modern education.

Apparently, incentives are added to the best teacher, which will reinforce them to put in their best in inculcating knowledge to the learners.
In addition, there are watchdogs, who monitor the teaching and learning activities that go on in different institutions of learning, to ensure proper and adequate teaching activities are maintained and to prevent feeding the learners with academic poison, thereby producing appropriate result at the end of the day. Because the failure of a learner can be directly proportional to the inability of the teacher to teach well. So bridge that inability, proper measures are taken to avoid had I known.
Additionally, my locality is utilizing the technological advancement to make teaching and learning interesting, as done instructors used Powe points, projectors, etc to display their activities, and making learning more practical than theoritical
Take for instance, it was during Covid-19 that most schools started engaging in online classes, which is a modern of education. Even up till now, people learn online.
Significantly, alot of individuals engage in online courses, both within and outside yheir country of residence, which does not require there presence, and at the end of their study are certified

CONCLUSION

The importance of Education apparently cannot be overemphasized, because it has helped a great deal in producing intellectuals of great reputation in our society. Those intellectuals started from somewhere that is children and they were able to make head way. So also the children equally can do better in this time because of the better opportunities that they have to learn, unlearn and relearn and to be better in our society.
