What is census? Is census possible in steemit?

Most of us may have been wondering what census really is as we've been hearing of it and how it is done. At first, I had this thought that group of individuals would come to people's houses and start counting how many people are in that house. Technology has made it possible that it is beyond that and not that way anymore. What is census, how is it done and can it be done on steemit?

The census is an official countof a population, typically conducted by a government. It's used to collect information about the population, such as age, gender, race, and other demographic characteristics. The census is important for many reasons, such as for redistricting, tracking changes in the population, and allocating government resources.

The last census in my country Nigeria was in 2006 and I was just a child then. But from what my parents told me, it was a very funny event, in that the number was often falsified and that even dead people would still be counted. Anything to make the number huge, Lolz....

• One of the issue with census us that it can be challenging to get a high response rate for the census
• In countries with large populations like Nigeria, census is so tasking and resource draining because it requires a lot of resources and coordination to get an accurate count of the population.
• There can be undercounting, which means that some people are not counted in the census, usually due to factors such as homelessness or living in hard-to-reach areas.
• Also, there can be inaccuracies in the data due to people misunderstanding questions or giving false information or language problems especially in multi ethnic countries like Nigeria.
• Lastly,, there are often concerns about the privacy of the data and how it's used.

Wow! I have to give it to @udyliciouz, it's a very creative idea. Yes, census can actually be done on steemit but not in the traditional sense as it would help us know the demographic information of users, the kind of post we love, what people do most with the platform, the number of active and inactive users, withdrawals and the overall number of users on the platform.

Well, we live in a technological era, a few codes in the hands of a professional can handle that, I believe.

Well a lot of things is to be considered if I am to agree with census on steemit. Some of these worries are,

• Is the data collected accurate and representative?
• How do you ensure that everyone who should participate in the "census" actually does so?
• how do you protect the privacy of the people who participate?
