Greetings to all steemians in this community. This topic of this contest is quite intrinsic and basic for all to gain accurate knowledge of. The world in general is technologically inclined in a way that everything now is a product of technology. Science has made it possible for technological products to be available to make life easier and without stress. Technology has also made the world a better place in terms of communication, operating and doing businesses, transportation, and the rest but not all technological products are advantageous. Even the ones that are advantageous can be harmful if used for other negative purposes. What is technology? Is technology more harm than good in the society as a whole? In this contest, I'll make my proportion brief and straight to the point. I'll avoid lengthy proportions and I'll also try not to go into debating or arguments.

Technology

Technology is not a word that is hard to define. Technology is everywhere and can be defined from everything we use our eyes to see. Even the light we have in our houses are products of electricity. So in a nutshell, technology is the application of scientific knowledge, methods and skills from varying branches mainly for practical purposes and applications especially in the industry. The light we have in our houses is the application of physics which is a branch of science and so termed as Technology. The appliances we have at home which makes life easy and comfortable are as a result of scientific knowledge..So you see, technology is not hard to define. Even a layman can define technology by what he sees. So these technology are of greater benefits and are more good than harm because technology;

• helps to solve problems be it technical, financially, and physically
• help save lives
• helps us interact and exchange information
• helps in changing people's lives and improving their condition

The benefits of technology are numerous than the effects....

In my own opinion and based on facts which I'll show, technology has done more good than bad in the world. These five inventions supports what I'm about to raise.

• Phones
• Social Media
• Cars and other vehicles
• POS machine
• Computer

Phones

No one would say that he or she hasn't used or seen phone or even heard about it. Phone is a popular invention that greatly aids communication today. This technology has made it possible for people to communicate and exchange information from far distances instead of going to a bout and standing on a straight line to reach out to someone or writing letters and posting in mailbox. This technology has also saved time and stress and it's a very fast means of communication today. Without phones, it would not be easy to reach out to people from across the world faster. Without phones, we won't be able to do certain online businesses for Money. Even steemit wouldn't be possible for everyone. Without my phone, it wouldn't be possible for me to create content on steemit. Without phones, soft copy pictures, social media, and a lot wouldn't have been possible. Although people misuse phones for other negative purposes, it is more advantageous than disadvantaged.

Social Media

You may be shocked when I say social media is a technology but it is actually a technology because the way it is structured is scientifically and technologically based. The way it is structured in a way that people can converse with others, advertise their products to the public, and the rest shows a lot of scientific skills and knowledge applied. Social Media like Facebook is very advantageous than disadvantaged because asides communicating through phone, we can communicate and chat with each other and also exchange information.We can also advertise our products there to the public which is very cost effective and stress free because it makes it easy rather than printing barbers and wasting much time advertising to the general public. Facebook has also helped in building up lives emotionally and physically. The groups in this social Media platform incite, excite people, change their perspectives and also train. Although many misuse Facebook for watching things they didn't intend to, chatting with people they never met and also planning to meet them and also doing other things, Facebook is very advantageous.

Cars and other vehicles

This technology still seem to amaze me as to how they structured it and made it possible for movement. Without cars and other vehicles, transportation wouldn't be that easy especially to far distances. This technology has made life easier that people can go to far distances without stress, with ease and convenience. Technology in this case has proven that movement can be with ease and life can be stress free.

Pos machine

This technology has made it possible for us to do certain transactions in the bank without physically going to the bank and standing in long ques. During the era of COVID-19, this technology has been widely used as many did not have access to the bank so instead of rendering them helpless, POS machine has made it possible for withdrawal, deposit and transfers to be possible. This technology has really saved time, resources and energy..

Computer

This is one of the biggest technology so far in networking. Networking can't be possible without computer and other devices. Computer Is more advantageous than disadvantaged because mostly everything in the world is computerized. The Educational sector, business sector, government and internationally is controlled by computer. Without computer there is no system and work would have been stressful. Life wouldn't be possible without technology. These technologies has made life a little bit easier and comfortable. These technologies are for our benefits and not for the other way round.

So my solid advice to all technological users is that we should use these technologies well and not using it to hamper ourselves and other people too..

Conclusively, I propose that technology is only good and advantageous for those that see it that way. Many parents view some vital technology as harmful not that they are wrong, it's just that sometimes, they have to monitor how their children use these technologies.
Technology has made our world a better place in regards to certain things.

Personal Experience

Personally, I have benefited a lot from social media platform technology. I've been able to market my product there for people to buy. I created a page and ran ads on it so that people can buy my product. I've also been able to learn from Facebook social media platform. If you are disciplined, you'll be in control of what you view in social media and focus more on the advantage.
