A child walks into a sweet shop and wants all the candy bars, but he remembers he's overweight and promises himself to cut down on junk foods and his momma besides him won't hesitate to chide him for being greedy. So he takes just a single candy bar and walks out of the stall. This child actions is clearly a product of discipline. Hence, **discipline can be seen as an act of self control in order to achieve a certain goal or the act of following rules and abiding by rules.
To discipline someone involves making a person to abide by the rules or have self control

Question 1:
How do you view discipline?

Many misuse the word discipline for punishment. Last week I came across a new on social media where a parent tied his son to a tree full of soldier ants naked. The child was in agony as he felt the pain from those ants. Even with the screaming and yelling, the parents were not moved. Why was he tied? He broke an expensive wall clock. When the parents were asked why they did that, they said they were disciplining the child so he would be more careful next time.

I view discipline as that which makes humans actually humans and not wild animals. Imagine a world without discipline, a world where a parent cannot discipline his or her child no matter how bad his actions are. As we all know an undisciplined person would act wantonly and carelessly. Then imagine a world where everyone acts wantonly and disorderly....the very thoughts gives me chills.

Question 2:
Have you been disciplined before or have you ever disciplined someone?

Oh yes, I have been disciplined. As a matter of fact, I get disciplined even till now. As every wrong decisions I make is faced with stiff rebuke. This is unpleasant but it however helps me pattern my life accordingly. And I won't see anyone make a wrong decision and fail to rebuke him or her. So yes I discipline people too. Discipline isn't about inflicting pain. Words can be used to discipline and I've been disciplined by this method even as I'm grown. The books I read, the people I meet and path I cross all serve as discipline for me in one form after another.

Question 3:
Do you consider discipline as love or hatred despite how it is given?

Discipline is not usually sweet or palatable. However, annoying a discipline may look is actually a move out love to ensure you don't stray from the right path. However, Discipline and punishment are two separate terms and at such should not be mistaken for each other. Discipline may or may not involve punishment. Furthermore, extreme form of punishment like brutal beating, causing physical and psychological harm is definitely not discipline but and act of wickedness.

Question 4:
Do you think discipline is beneficial to kids?

A world without discipline is one with anarchy and everyone in the world was once a kid. If the kids are let to behave like wild animals, what do you think of the future, when the kids grow. So discipline to a kid helps not only to shape the kids life and morals and also enable him see clearly that which is right and wrong but help him be a better person to the society at large.

Question 5:
Your personal advice to those who give discipline and to those who receive it."

My candid advice to the disciplinarian is; discipline with love, do not be blinded by rage and hate as that will only send the wrong message. To those on the recieving end, apply what I call sift the gold nuggets technique, discipline may come with harsh words, but look beyond the bone piercing words and try to focus on where you erred and seek to straighten that out.* Though it may not be easy, maintain a cordial relationship with those who discipline you properly.

And finally, don't expect a discipline to be a bar of hot chocolates or a soothing balm.*I'll draw conclusions here. Thanks for going through my blog.

Hanging a child in a tree full of soldier ants is not discipline. Rather, I see it molestation and infringement of human rights. I pray nothing should happen to that child. Your write-up is totally amazing. This is for you 👍

Saludos
