I'm @bossj23 by name and I want to take you on the subject Biology.Hope you had a sound night. Learning is a continuous process and what I'm about to expatiate on, this morning is Biology. A lot of us have heard of that Subject Biology while many are yet to know.

God used biology in creating life on Earth. He did so with man after he reacted Silicondioxoide [SiO2] and Water[H2O].

In the course of this discussion, we'll see what biology is, branches, its usefulness and career prospect or fields in biology.

The word biology got it origin basically from two Greek words which are Bios and Logos meaning life and study. So we can simply put that biology is the extensive study of life because life involves all living things that metabolizes.
Biology is a natural science or branch of science that deals with the study of living organisms which includes plants, animals and microorganism and their metabolism which involves chemical processes in living things to maintain life.

Basically,we have 2 main branches of Biology which are;

• Botany: study of plants [features and characteristics]

• Zoology: study of animals[features and characteristics]

The other branches of Biology are, microbiology, anatomy and so on.

Many people think there is no usefulness in biology because of its big names and the rest. Anything involving the study of life has a lot of benefit and usefulness .
The usefulness of Biology are as follows;

-It helps us understand the world we are living, the organisms in it, how these organisms affect us, and mostly on how humans function,interact and evolve.

• Biology is used in food- production industries.

• It provides answers to major health problems facing the state.

• It helps us understand concepts of life in general.

• Used in biotechnology which constitutes of genetic technology.

• Used in horticulture and agriculture.

• Used in Medicine and veterinary Science to maintain and sustain life and so on.
