• Over Population: This can be seen as a situation where by the number of people found in an area, are more than the available resources to be utilized as to enjoy a high standard of living.
• Under Population: This is a situation where by the number of people found in an area, are less than the resources to be utilized.
• Moderate Maximum Population: This is a situation where by the number of people living in an area, are equal to the available resources to be utilized.
• Optimum Population: This is a situation where by the number of people found in the area, are more than the available resources, but the excess population is such that can be supported by the government (combined with available resources) so as to achieve the highest standard of living in a given area under give conditions and balanced size of population that sustains the highest standard of living.

Birth rate can be increase through the following;

• Government incentives such as: Free medical care, education, child welfare benefits etc.
• Encouragement of early marriage
• Ages encouragement of polygamy
• provision of benefits for single parent
• Absence of family planning or deregulation of birth control programmes.

• Large labour especially for the industries
• Large market for the good's produced by the industries
• Quick information dissemination
• Togetherness: Many people are brought together and this helps to promote peace and unity among the diverse people in the country, society or locality.
• Organised defense, in such areas is possible and even having Togetherness in them is more secured than people far away from each other that's isolated compound.

• inadequate health services
• Development of slams and ghetto quarters which is very bad
• pressure on natural resources
• increase in crime rate
• lack of food and insufficiency
• unemployment and underemployment
• lack of accommodation or inadequate housing
• pressure social amenities

• Abundant resources
• low crime rate that's decrease in criminal act
• adequate planning
• low pressure on social amenities
• regular flow of population
• increase in revenue that's capital

• determination of infrastructure

Some areas with favourable climate life are Europe, USA, China etc, do attract population. While areas of unfavourable or harsh climate like desert and polar regions do not attract population.
