Hello everyone, my name is @blessedbee from Nigeria, I am joining this contest to share my recipe in preparing jollof porridge plantain, it is not a common meal but is very delicious, I encourage everyone to try and have a taste of it.

Without forgetting, I will like to appreciate @steemkids for organising this contest, giving everyone the opportunity to share their cooking skills.

Plantain porridge is a delicious delicacy I prepare with ripe plantain, it is very sweet because of the sweetness from the ripe plantain.
Plantain contains many nutritional components which makes it good for human consumption, these include;

  1. Fibre
  2. Magnesium
  3. Iron
  4. Potassium
  5. Vitamin C
    Etc.

BENEFITS OF EATING PLANTAIN


  1. Because of its fibre content, one still remains full after plantain consumption, so the possibility of adding weight is reduced, so it helps to control weight.

  2. It makes it easy to pass excrement, because it makes the stool to be many, it is easier to pass it many than small, this means that consuming plantain makes digestion easy.

  3. The vitamin C content in plantain helps in immunity, when there is a worn out tissue, it will help to repair it.


INGREDIENTS USED IN PREPARING JOLLOF PLANTAIN PORRIDGE.


  1. Tomato paste
  2. Groundnut oil
  3. Pepper
  4. Onions
  5. Seasoning cube
  6. Curry leaves
  7. Ripe Plantain
  8. Crayfish
  9. Salt.

STEPS TO PREPARE JOLLOF PLANTAIN PORRIDGE


  1. Peel off the plantain and slice it to your desired size. Pour it into the cooking pot and place it on fire. When it is done, add a little salt and filter it.

  1. Pour groundnut oil into a dry pot , place it on fire, then add your onions and tomatoes paste, stir it till the sourness in the tomato paste is no more.

  1. When you taste it and it is to your satisfaction, you now add your crayfish and seasoning cube, stir it till it is done.

  2. After which you add your pepper and curry leaves, stir it and add a little water, cover it for 3minutes.

  1. Pour in your filtered plantain, mix it properly then cover it for few minutes.

  1. Bring it down and enjoy your jollof plantain porridge with a chilled water or juice.
