Story Begins

I am going to tell a real life story where this came true.

It all began in a school, specifically in grade 6. A boy named John was taller and more mature than his classmates. In fact, he was feared by other children in the same class. To further instill fear in their minds, he always comes to school with a short knife, and no one dared tell the teachers. However, deep down in his heart, he was very meek and humble. But to ensure everyone respects him, he acts very roughly.

During one school day, another student by the name Aceh, was bullied by other 5 students in the class during break period. Unfortunate, the mighty John saw them and threatened them with a knife. Knowing the kind of roughian he was, they all left their prey and ran for their lives. On that day, Aceh's teasing ended, thanks to John who rescued him. John told Aceh that looks can be deceptive. Aceh was so much surprised at seeing the beautiful side of John , which he took to heart.

30.yeara later

John finished school and became a policeman in his country USA. He was very good at his job and his superiors loved.

One day, he decided to travel to Asia to spend his work leave, specifically Indonesia. While traveling he met a woman with a small child and after some pleasantries, found out they were both going to the same destination.

When they landed at the airport and unboarded, very close to the checkpoint, the woman asked for his assistance in carrying one of their bags.
John in his usual manner offered to help without knowing that the bag is filled with cocaine.

When the airport security attendant searched the bag, they saw over 120kg of cocaine and arrested John on the spot. All efforts to explain himself proved abortive and the woman literally abandoned him and fled.

For this crime he was imprisoned in Malaysia. He stayed 4 solid years in prison and was now arraigned in the court for the final hearing before his execution.

Surprisingly, the judge handling the proceedings happened to be Aceh, whom he helped 30 years ago. Aceh immediately recognized John but John did not.

Once again John pleased not guilty and made a statement looks can be deceptive. With that final confirmation that he was certainly John, he acquitted him from the charges and set him free.

John was really happy that he was going back to meet his wife and two children again. However, before he left the court premises, he was summoned to the judge's room.

It was there that Aceh, identified himself as the child he saved when the other 5 kids were bullying him and told him that Looks can be deceptive. John quickly remembered and broke down with tears of Joy.

Morale of.the story

It is good to be nice to others, remember that the person you meet on your way going up, you may likely meet the same person while coming down.

It will be wise never to judge a person from his looks. Looks can be very deceptive.

We should never shut the door of kindness to others irrespective of their class or social status.

Let us remember that even though our good deeds are not returned back to us by those we helped, the payback will come in some other interesting ways.

What an amazing story @benton3! Thank you so much for sharing with us here, I believe our kids will learn from it's valuable lessons and morale. Truly we shouldn't judge a book by its cover. And we shouldn't shut doors of kindness from others, because we don't know where and when we will meet that same person again. Once again Thanks for being active in our community we appreciate you

We shouldnt judge others whether its looks, dressing, actions.
We should leave the judging to the Almighty for His the one who looks inside our hearts.

An amazing story you got and very interesting to read.
Thanks for sharing.
All the best!
