This day, i will be attempting my homework given by our social studies tutor, no other person than @udyliciouz with a very nice topic " Educational Institution". Read through as i begin to give an answers to the questions given.

What do you understand by the word "education"

Education is the process of acquire knowledge and understanding from someone and the act of transmitting or imparting knowledge to other. Education is one of the essential thing in life that provides learner with ability or capabilities to become productive, be economical, enhance well-being and contribute to peaceful and developing a sustainable livelihood. It doesn't stops at school setting alone.Education can you take place at anytime or anywhere

Mention and explain types of education.

There are three different types of education that we have. These are:

• Informal education

• Non-formal education

• Formal education

Informal Education: This morning s the type of education that takes place in a community on daily basis. Informal education doesn't require special teacher, it's doesn't need rules and regulations. No special school curriculum to be implemented and no special place for informal education.
This kind of education is normally seen among children learning different types of things from their parents, elderly people such as skill, attitudes. Informal Education can also be gotten through books,or educational website.

Non-formal education: Non- formal education is highly flexible. Although non- formal education is similar to formal education, but it's takes different form of learning which is consistently provided ability in an individual in order to develop a particular skill.

Formal education: These education takes place within the school premises. It's ranges from elementary school to secondary school and then further to Universities. However, here in formal education, rule and regulations is implemented, specialize qualified teacher are needed to instruct, educate effectively, curriculum is approved.

Highlights different levels of education and their objectives

This is the type of education given to people at different levels of life ranging from the infant to adulth. Here as follows;

Early Childhood/Pre-Primary Education

These level of education is the education given in an educational institution to infant or children that has been enroll or been admitted newly into primary School. This section include the crèche, kindergarten,and nursery .

Goals/Objectives of Pre-Primary Education

The objectives of this level of education include effecting a smooth transition from the home to the school, inculcating social norms and preparation of child for primary level of education.

Primary Education

Primary education has to do with those children enroll in the primary section between the age of six (6) year to eleven (11) years.

Goals of Primary Education

The basic goals in primary education is,

• To lay a basic sound for scientific, reflective thinking.
• Inculcate effective communication among the Pupils
• Giving the child opportunities to develop skills that will help him/her to function effectively in the society.

Secondary Education

This is the another level of education. Children are enroll in secondary Education immediately after primary school level. This type of education is divided into two parts or section. It covers both junior and senior secondary schools. The senior secondary cover three (3) years, while the senior secondary cover three (3) years also, in all we have six (6) years to complete this level. In junior secondary eduction, students are exposed to so many subjects to study. While in senior secondary section, the students will been given a combination of subjects to choose based on his/her interests and levels of intelligence. The subject to choose or specialize are science, arts and commercial.

Goals of Secondary Education

• Preparation of individuals for useful living within the society and higher institutions
• people who think and love themselves
• Building up people who can respect the views and feelings of others
• Respect and value the dignity of labour

Tertiary Education

Tertiary Education is another level of education given after secondary education level. These includes Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education, College of health sciences and many more. In tertiary Education, students have a minimum of four years to study, and the students focusses on their specialize fields.

Goals of Tertiary Education

The goals of tertiary education include academics and higher vocational eduction. Equipped the students with knowledge and skills for them to be able to meet every aspect of life. They provide opportunity for lifelong learning.Developing and inculcating proper values for the survival of the individual and society at large.Tertiary education serves as instrument in fostering growth, reducing poverty.

Mention 5 roles of school to the community

School community has a role the play in that particular community in order to contribute to the welfare of the people. Few are listed below;

• The school help in transforming the children in the community through teaching.

• The school is the development agent to the community.

• The school education contributes to community development by helping build strong and resilient communities, that can withstand setbacks and challenges.

• The school premises will be used by the for community functions.

-The school provides job opportunities to members of the community.

State three roles of community to school

The following are the roles play by the community to school;

• The community helps in providing land/space for the establishment of schools

• The community help in providing financial support to the school.

• Members of the community help in the disciplining of students

• The community helps in maintaining discipline, and decorum in school institution.

• Another role is bringing the school closer together can generate a sense of local ownership and enhance accountability.
