There was this particular cousin of mine who one sin a while comes to spend holidays with my family due summer. We would go out due the day to play with the kids and back in the evening before mum and day comes back. This cousin of mine actually had a habit of sleeping with his mouth I open and as caring family members we’ve tried to help him close his mouth all to no avail, then I decided to pray some pranks on him. So I just target him whenever he is sleeping especially in the afternoon siesta.
As he is sleeping with his mouth open, I would fold a piece of paper and put in his mouth and light it up with a match stick and the paper begins to burn. The guy is a deep sleeper so he is virtually as loss on what’s happening. The paper burns till it gets to his lips and the heat on his skin wakes him up with a startle and he knocks the paper off his lips, jumps up and begins to chase me in retaliation. I would always take off and run only to come back for another dose of the same prank when he sleeps off again.
I was never caught by any adults and my cousin didn’t report the issues to my parents either, we just played pranks one each other for fun. On his own part he always like to scare me, so he would usually wait for me behind the door to scare me off my wits with a scream. It’s how we rolled.
Another prank I played was on my siblings when growing up. We usually eat together mostly at night. So when we are eating, I would do something to distract them like saying hey look at that coackroach flying around, and they look up from the food to look at the coakroach which ofcourse isn’t there, I would pick up the meat from the food and put it in my mouth. They would notice there was no coakroach and ofcourse ad they look down into the food they would notice the meat which was for everyone has gone Missing Inside my mouth, they would all usually bounce on me in a bid to open my mouth and bring out the meat. Sometimes they would report to mum who would give them another meat and my punishment was that I wouldn’t have meat in the next meal.
I played a prank on my father and mother too. Which I feel is stupid though. Those days as kids when we finish eating, we would all file into our parents room to greet them and thank them food the food they gave us. It was a family tradition. We would usually say “daddy thanks sir”, “and mummy thanks ma”. So what I did and I taught my younger ones was to twist the greeting in our Igbo dialect and we would say “mummy ta nma” and daddy ta ncha” these sounded alike like the English version of the appreciation but what it actually meant is “daddy eat soap” and “mummy eat knife”. We would greet them like that especially when they gave us what we didn’t want to eat and they would respond you are welcome while we wound run off giggling foolishly.
I said foolishly because it was really foolish and they never even get to realize what we were telling them to eat soap and knife instead of thanking them. There were a host of other foolish things I did as pranks while growing up just as writing a post and sticking it at the back of my classmates without their notice and they will be walking round school with the stupid note at their back while other Students will be laughing at them without them knowing why, it’s quite embarrassing though.
And also playing April fools day prank on my siblings even my parents are not left out of the April fools day prank. I also remember playing swing push pranks on my mates. I love to swing a lot and when ever am on the swing, I like having it to myself, so whenever any of my mates wants to have a turn on the swing, they would request I give them some pushes to set the swing in motion. With all pleasure I push them up so high that they go screaming out of fear and ofcourse they can’t handle the height and they come off the swing while I resume my swinging. I enjoyed doing some of those pranks but I guess they were still all out of childishness.
Hope you enjoyed my naughty prank tales . I invite @ruthjoe, @beewrites and @ashkhan to participate in this contest. |
