Hello steemians, I am joining the 100 days of steem Friday Challenge organized by @steemitblog, with support from @steemcurator01. In this post, I will be telling you about a charity organization in my vicinity, and how this organization can be brought to steem.

Meet Gideon Orphanage/Home for the Aged

Gideon orphanage home is a non-governmental organization situated in Asero Housing Estate, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. The organization is committed to helping orphans, abused and/or abandoned children and the Elderly in Nigeria. The activities of this organization helps these neglected children to become valuable members of the society, by grooming them with so much love and care.

The home was established in April 2008 by Mrs Oluwatoyin Banjo, with the full support of her husband, Olawale Banjo, who is the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the home. The founder also runs a Supported Accommodation along with her husband for mental health patients called Gideon Supported Housing.

The Vision Statement of Gideon Home

Gideon Orphanage Home is a subsidiary of GIVING HANDS, it is a non governmental orphanage home approved by the Ogun State Government. Gideon Orphanage has a vision to help take orphans, abused and abandoned children off the streets through rehabilitation, reformation and reintegration.

The orphanage home gives the children better opportunities in life by providing them with food, portable water, shelter, clothing, medicare and education. These combine to help the organization achieve its aim of rehabilitating, reforming, and reintegrating the children into the society. They offer the children education to as much as the university level, and some of these children are given out to couples, or individuals who are willing and are capable of adopting them, provided they are able to conform with the organization's regulations in that regard.

The Challenges of the Orphanage Home

The major challenges of the Gideon orphanage home include funds, facilities and infrastructures necessary to provide quality care, education and support that the children deserve. The home has been able to acquire a property of their own for shelter. However, the building requires remodeling and renovation to address the specific needs of the home and to meet up with the standard set out by the Ogun State Government. Some of the items that the home also needs include:

Bringing The Organization to Steem

I think it will be very great to get this orphanage on steem. With the support of the SteemitINC team, the organization can do much more than it is currently doing. I am in a good position to bring them on board because the children from this home worship in the same church where I worship, and I know two of their instructors. I can through them reach out to the founder or her husband, who is the BoT chairman of the organization. The founder also has her phone number on the organization's website, so she can even be reached easily.

I am sure that Gideon Orphanage Home being on steem will bring solution to some of their challenges, and help the organization even reach out to more children, rehabilitating them, and making them useful for the society, and better still, helping them to overcome the stigma that comes with their orphanage status.
