Steeming Community Contest | "Your Story 3" - Father - A Real-life Hero without a Cape
Hi @fabio2614 it's me again @saneunji. As always I am here to share my entry and try my luck this time. Win or lose, I still had fun creating contents for your wonderful contests.
Today, I run some errands and it's a long process and while waiting for my turn an idea came up and so I made this content for father's day edition. Here it is...
This week's topic is all about "fathers" and I could not think of anyone else but this man.
His name is Santiago, a good husband and a good, loving father to his 3 kids. Growing up from a poor family he knew how hard life is so when he had a family of his own he promised to his self that he will work hard and try hard to sustain the needs of his family. He worked in a mall as sales man earning a low salary. Everything was okay not until his kids were starting to grow up and his salary is barely enough to sustain the needs of his kids from foods, clothes and tuition fees.
As a responsible father as he is, he thought of ways for his family to survive. He then started to plant vegetables in his small garden and raised native chickens for their daily consumption and if his lucky to harvest enough vegetables he then sold few of them to his neighbors. He even climbed a coconut tree to extract "tuba" or coconut wine until it turned into vinegar after few days and sold it to his neighbors too. After he earned and saved money, Santiago bought dozens of shampoos and soaps and he and his wife sold it to other people in several places on foot. They didn't mind the heat or how tired they are in walking because they really have to do it for their kids' future.
Santiago's strategy and ideas continued for how many years and it really helped his family. Through his job and his sidelines, he was able to sustain his family's basic needs and he was able to provide proper education for his children until all of them graduated in college and found a decent job. It brings so much joy to Santiago seeing his children succeed and thankful as well because all his hardwork has been paid off.
As of the moment the oldest child is now a professional teacher working in North Carolina, the third child is a manager in a BPO industry and the second child is working in a BPO too and is here in Steemit creating a content of how great her father is.
Yes Santiago is my father!! The ever loving, hardworking, understanding and the bravest father of all. I am always and forever proud and grateful for all the things he's done for us. All the sacrifices he has made was never forgotten nor ignored. It will be forever carved in our hearts. A true hero indeed.
And to all the fathers or soon to be a father here in the community....
Happy Father's Day
Always,
@saneunji
