THE DIARY GAME : 7TH NOVEMBER, 2020 : A SATURDAY WITH SOBOLO
It was the beginning of the weekend and I was looking forward to a calm Saturday with lots of peace and quiet. This helps me to clear my mind and boosts my spirit level as well. There was no mention of a wedding or event which was occuring today and as such, I decided to sleep in. I then woke up around 8 a.m. and freshened up.
It was now time for my breakfast. I have now bought more lime since the ones I had got finished. This is to help maintain a good health.
I therefore made myself some black tea with bread and fried egg and squeezed one lime into my black tea. Not only is good for health, I also the slight bitterness of the fruit.

I was then sitting in the hall chatting with my sister. We were just talking about these politicians and their huge promises during this period of elections. They would promise you the skies and would not fulfill have of them. She even said she wouldn't vote this year as she has lost faith in the system but I encouraged her to also exercise her franchise.
I then yearned for some sobolo. Sobolo is a locally made ghanaian drink which is both sweet and has a lot of health benefits such as lowering blood pressure and assists weight loss. I asked around but no one sold some. I then decided that since I know the preparation steps, I will make some myself.
I therefore headed straight to the Kodee-Buoho station market to buy the sobolo "leaves" for my sobolo preparation. Once I entered the market, I saw a woman at the entrance who had some on her stall. I bought 4 cedis worth from her.
Where I boughtthe sobolo leaves
I also bought some groundnut for 2 cedis as well.
Since it was a walkable distance from my house, I went on foot and returned in about 30 minutes time. I then started the whole process. I washed the leaves with salt to disinfect it and poured the needed amount into a metal cup.
I then poured some ginger in it based on my liking and added some sugar as well. It was then left to boil on the stove.
After washing the sobolo leaves with salt
By then, my sister had fried some plantain and cooked some beans already so I decided to combine them for lunch. I poured some of the groundnut I bought from the market into a cup and added my prepared sobolo to it.

Once lunch was over, I decided to take a walk around the neighbourhood to get some fresh air. It was really quiet today and I believe it was mainly beacause lots of people are trying to get rest from their soreness from their week's activities.
Taking a walk withing the area
After this walk, I returned home and watched a bollyhood movie. The title of the movie is Maalang and it about two soul mates who put their trust in the justice system which failed them. They now seek revenge for the unlawful imprisonment of one of them. It is a very interesting movie and I'm sure many people will like it.
Watching Maalang on my laptop
This concludes my diary for today. Thank you for your attention.

Taking black tea with lemon every morning is good for your health which i think every body have to practice. I like Soobolo a lot, is one of my favourite drink. I like taking especially when the sun is hot. This election year is what happens in every house, talking about polities and their huge promises but please, talk about polities with care. Taking a walk sometimes is a very good excercise which we all need to practice. Thank you for sharing your esperience.
