We can't turn back the clock but memories stay forever.

Hello steemingzen, this is mariarosa27 from Cebu City, Philippines. I want to share with you the throwback travel memories I had. That was in Bohol, Philippines way back 2018.

A little information about Bohol:

  • Bohol is the main island of Bohol Province, which also includes 75 smaller islands. The island lies southeast from Cebu Island and southwest of Leyte Island in the Central Visayas region. This oval-shaped island is the tenth largest of the Philippine archipelago.

  • Bohol is a haven of tropical natural beauty. The coastline of the island is skimmed by gentle coves and white sand beaches. Bohol is well-known locally as a paradise for divers and snorkelers, though it's not as internationally famous as Boracay. Dolphin watching and whale watching tours are popular with both residents and visiting tourists. The best season is from March to June, but dolphins can be seen year-round. Bohol is famous for its Chocolate Hills; its tarsiers, which may be the world’s smallest primate; its heritage sites and old stone churches.

Way back 2018, I was able to visit Bohol together with my friend and my sister. We were invited to the wedding of our sponsor in schooling. My sponsor is an architect who is working in Singapore and there, she found her loved one who is an Indian and they got married.

We rode a fast craft to arrive early in the port.

The bride wanted her scholars to be the lectors and cantor in her wedding day.

This was the church where the wedding ceremony happened, this was very nice and one of the famous visited places in Bohol.

And there you go, the beautiful couple with their sponsors.

Before the mass began, since we were too early in the church, we were able to take photos in the surroundings.

After the mass , the reception happened in Bohol Beach Club.

  • Bohol Beach Club
Bohol Beach Club is a very popular destination resort. A short distance from Alona Beach, the resort is situated on a great section of powdery white sand beach, and shallow waters ideal for swimming and water activities. Bohol Beach Club has 3 swimming pools, several popular restaurants, game room, and aquasports. Perfect haven for romantic encounters, family retreats, and centrally located for exploring more of what Bohol and Panglao have to offer!

The reception venue was really very amazing and that was my 1st time to get there. We did not able to bathe in the beach since it was not about swimming why we were there but we really enjoyed the surroundings and the overall.

After the reception, of course we did not go home directly because it was night already and seemed the distance was so far. The parents of our sponsor made a booking on a hostel where we stayed one night. It was a house with bed spaces inside the room. The hostel was also nice and the staffs were accommodating.

This was the hostel where we stayed one night and there was a mango tree outside.

When we woke up, we really never expected that we will be going somewhere, we were like travellers who had a tourist guide who was the driver of the van. We thought we were going home already after sleeping in a hostel but a van suddenly arrived and told us to go on some of the beautiful spots in Bohol. We did not visit all , some were only passed by because each destination has entrance fee and we didn't have much money but the driver just told us about it when we passed by on the area.

1st destination was Chocolate Hills, Bohol, Philippines

a bit information:

  • The home of the famous Chocolate Hills, Bohol is one of the most visited destinations in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines. The island province offers breathtaking spots for history buffs, beach lovers, and adrenaline junkies. ... A Bohol experience would never be complete without visiting the Chocolate Hills.

I can still remember what happened to my face here 😂, the snake was really good to hold but when it started moving, you will really think that it will fall down and it will attack you 🤣🤣🤣 that's why my face looked like that LOL! 😅

3rd destination was the BOHOL TARSIER CONSERVATION AREA

  • One of the must-visit Bohol tourist spots is the Philippine Tarsier and Wildlife Sanctuary. It is a large forest home to the endangered tarsiers. These 45 million-year-old small nocturnal primates with big round eyes usually cling to low branches or the trunks of slim trees. They are very delicate and emotionally-sensitive creatures that get stressed easily. According to the tour guides, tarsiers commit suicide by banging their heads against tree trunks when they get stressed, so visitors have to keep the noise level to a minimum. Visitors are allowed to take pictures except using the flash. And tarsiers aren’t allowed to be touched.

The last destination we visited was the MAN-MADE FOREST

  • Visit one of the most enchanting places in Bohol, which is the Bilar Man-Made Forest. It's part of the reforestation project started in 1947 and launched in 1953 by Governor Conrado Marapao. It was to stop the Loboc watershed deforestation.

  • It was a successful project as many laborers, government employees, locals, and even students help each other in the plant seedlings. It consists of 20,000 hectares in the towns of Loboc, Batuan, Carmen, Valencia, Jagna, Sierra Bullones, and more.

  • The Bilar Man-Made Forest often included in a Bohol sightseeing escapade is great for a slow walk down a natural tunnel formed by the canopies of well-spaced trees. It's a tranquil place, so it's great if you're looking for a short pit stop before your next Bohol adventure, the forest is just north of it.

  • It has a stretch of two kilometers and is made with white and red mahogany trees. This tourist destination is often packaged with other tourist spots such as Chocolate Hills in a guided sightseeing excursion in Bohol.

  • It’s also combined with nearby attractions such as this sightseeing tour with Loboc River Cruise.

We only visited 4 destinations because aside from we were out of budget, we also had to go home that day, we still had to go to the port area to buy ticket and wait for the scheduled time.
