Hello wonderful steemians in the community, I am very happy to participate in this great contest brought up by @steemingcuration, titled; perseverance.

WHAT IS PERSEVERANCE?

In my own understanding, I will say that perseverance is when we continue in doing something not withstanding the challenges on the way which may cause delay in seeing a better result In what we are doing.

Perseverance is having a goal and trying to reach the goal no matter how hard it is. Someone who persevere is always a winner and without perseverance, we can't win.

MY STORY THAT THOUGHT ME PERSEVERANCE

In 2016 after my first school leaving certificate examination, I was picked up by a teacher in my school to be a nanny to her new born set of twins although I didn't her throughout my stay in school but I was referred to her by another teacher who knew me well in school.

This was a very difficult stage in my life because I had spent my entire life living with my family so the only friend I had was my parents and siblings but yet it was time I leave so I could have a better future. I agreed but the reason behind my agreement was because I intended to stay with them for two years and at the end of two years, I must have been able to raise some money to further my education. So I left with them to Port Harcourt because they were a living there.

When I got there, I noticed there will never be a place like my home, I was to be just a nanny in the agreement and that alone was enough load since I was to take care of two babies but it happened that I also became the house keeper, I was responsible for both the babies, everything in the house and everyone in the house, I don't know how I was able to do that because I believe I was too young for such responsibility. Even at this, my best wasn't seen, I became everything that I wasn't, I was a theif, even when I didn't steal, I was told when to eat and what to eat and I don't eat when I want to, little mistakes were seen as wickedness, mistakes that my mother would have corrected me with love but then I realized It wasn't with my mum, I realized I had a target, I realized I had to be strong, I realized I had to persevere, though sometimes I'll feel like giving up, I'll feel like going back to my family especially when they didn't allow me to be visiting my parents

To cut the long story short, I endured and stayed untill I gained admission into the university.

WHAT HELPED ME TO PERSEVERE?

The only thing I could say helped me persevere was my present and my future, looking back, I didn't like where I was,the condition I found myself, my family background and I didn't want to remain there, being the only young girl in the entire family to pursue her education to the tertiary level is a great outcome of Perseverance for me and while I'm still going, I'm meeting obstacles but I will continue to persevere untill I get there

CONCLUSION

That you fail doesn't makes you a failure, that you stumble and fall doesn't mean you should remain there, it is not always easy in the field but if we Persevere, we will always win, sometimes it will appear as if quitting is the only option left but the truth is that, we don't need to quite, we're meant to fight till we win.
