Steeming charity petition. Exams week. / By @emisol
Hectic week.
Sometimes life touches us differently ... I comment:
Last Sunday, Father's Day, everything started very well, a lot of affection for my husband from my daughters, already at breakfast time, sitting commenting, I realized that my daughter Paula was drowning, my husband, when Seeing her that she is stiffening and that it seems that she was drowning, in her first aid knowledge, she got up and helped her, when she achieved it, she realized that she is still very rigid and begins to get extremely hard, he carried her and took her to bed where He placed her semi-sitting (inclined at about 45 °) sitting behind her and holding her on his chest, he put his fingers inside her mouth to prevent her from biting her tongue, at the same time that he turned her head to the side, I I ran to call my neighbor who is a nurse who helped treat her during the seizures. They were very hard and distressing moments.
Once the seizures were over, she fell asleep for a while, I stayed with her monitoring her, my husband slept with her, little by little she regained consciousness and was responding in time, space and identifying everyone, she did not remember anything. Of course all the alarms went off. We called my sister who is a doctor, the same nurse helped us, the friend @aleravago who has a lot of experience in emergency medicine since he is a retired firefighter with a lot of experience in the area (thank you very much friend). They guided us on the possible causes of the crisis.
The next day we took her for lab tests.
In the afternoon they sent us the results and everything apparently fine.
Once we sent the results to my sister, she told us that a neurologist should see her, do an electroencephalogram to determine what could be happening. That said, my husband located the place where the study could be done and we made the appointment for Wednesday morning.
On the day of the consultation and study (Wednesday), and following the protocol that they indicated to us, where she was deprived of sleep (she had to go to bed late the day before and wake up early that day), she went to bed at 12 o'clock at night and got up at 5 am. After doing her personal hygiene and changing, almost ready for breakfast (at approximately 6:15 AM) she had another crisis, much less intense and shorter than the one on Sunday, this took us by surprise and even when it was in bed My husband had a hard time putting something in his mouth so he wouldn't bite and I could barely get two fingers to hold the tongue and put it in position. As a result of the seizures, and despite the fact that it was less intense, the fingers could not position them well and in the bite he injured a little.
This time she recovered much faster and as in any seizure process, the patient does not remember anything, Paula only remembered that she was sitting on the bed. We left her alone, soon after she got up, drank water, we checked her well, she didn't break her mouth, she spoke perfectly and as always she started with her jokes and everything. Already waiting for them to come and get us to take her to the doctor, at 7:20 am she had a new episode (a horrible experience, I had never seen anyone convulse twice the same day). Now my husband was more prepared and managed to put a strap between his teeth and attend to her, this last episode was shorter than the previous one (5 to 8 seconds) he even recovered much faster. They came to look for us and we went to the doctor.
Once we got to the medical center, they did the EEG.
Once the study was carried out, the neurologist attended her, who after many questions and after examining her, told me that she should have other tests to make her diagnosis, for this it is required to do an MRI to determine her suspicions, among which she points out which can be a "sleep disorder", since young people tend to spend late at night and early morning on cell phones and / or computers or it can be an epileptic syndrome, which he considers unlikely, since when a person tends to have this pathology, manifests it before the age of 10 and Paula is 16 and a half. He added a series of lab tests to compare the ones that were done. At the same time, he recommended that we take her to an allergist, to rule out allergies to any other medicine or vitamin (she is allergic to the B complex) and we have also come out of the Covid virus (25 days)
Here the respective orders of the studies.
The lab order.
He prescribed an anticonvulsant and gave us indications of hours of use of electronic equipment and rest.
Once the consultation was over and the fees paid, we went to have breakfast and then to the pharmacy to buy the medicines. After that, they took us to the house and, having changed, resting, we planned our habits according to medical indications. At once I started making some calls to get the budgets for the studies.
In my city (Maracaibo) there are only two Centers where they carry out this study and in only one they can do it with all the specifications indicated by the doctor. UDIMAGEN, the study has a cost of $ 250, and they do it by appointment. The neurologist told us to see us in 30 days with the results of the MRI and laboratory, additionally he must perform another encephalogram that day to compare the brain activity of the first consultation and after a month of treatment. The cost of the consultation is $ 30 and the study another $ 50, so it requires $ 330 for the entire process.
In addition to all this, the STEEM and SBD values are too low and what I have is not enough to cover the expenses.
I hereby request all those who in one way or another can help me to get closer to the 330 $, the necessary resources to pay for the exams. Any help is welcome.
God bless you and multiply good things you in life, as well as health and prosperity.
Thank you for the support and prayers I have received from friends who found out at that time.
