Steeming Community Contest | " At My Strongest "
Hi guys, it’s good to engage in yet another contest in the community. Thanks to the organizers of this contest, you guys are doing a good job, Kudos. I move to my story proper:
Education is good. Yeah, we all know that. School can be fun but it sure has its ugly moments. Something happened to me in school while in my final year; something that I never envisaged could be my lot. On a day that looks like every other day, I got to school for an exam that was meant to hold by 12 pm or so. The exam got delayed a little bit so I decided to read up some content on a piece of paper that is useful to the exam I was about to write. Some minutes later, my coursemates began moving like bees safeguarding their honey from an intruder. I got to understand it was time to get into the exam hall. I hurriedly put the paper into my pocket and marched to the exam hall. The exam was going pretty well. I was writing like a pro but didn’t know I was about to be probed. What happened? in about what seemed to be like 30 minutes into the exam, a sharp dude was caught impersonating someone else who himself was also present in the hall. The lecturer brought both of them to where I sat at the back (my favorite position then). Some minutes later two security macho young men entered into the hall and told the culprits to stand up and myself inclusive. Why? I don’t know. Maybe fate wanted to give me a knockout. I wasn’t prepared for the things that followed next. Back to the story: One of the securities (ant-cult personnel) said he knows who I am and that I was an impersonator too. What he was saying was sounding like an ambulance siren but when it dawned on me that this guy was serious, I tried to clear the misconception but he was not backing out. Alright, I became a little bit confrontational with him, making him understand that I had an exam to write and would not want my time to be wasted any further. Even though some of my coursemates joined to affirm that I was no impersonator, he didn’t like the fact that I was standing up to him. Being men of padded muscles, they were trying to threaten me but I got muscles too, standing up high above them from shoulder level. They resorted to searching me, which I obliged to because free conscience, they say, fears no accusation. Wait! I had put the paper I was reading before the exam into my pocket. If I did so on every other day of the exam, it would be inconsequential as long as I didn’t take it out of my pocket, but not on this day that fate had some package for me. When they saw the paper, they looked like people that won a lottery while I looked like a cub that was homeless; it’s funny to me now but then I felt like punching someone on the nose. One thing led to another and I got to sign a malpractice form. Chai! Nigerians would say “This life no balance” meaning this life is not balanced. The initial culprits bribed their way out of any consequences, and here I was writing life’s painful test. One thing led to another and I was invited to the panel. After the panel, no response came through for some months. After I was done with my project for the final year, started my final year clearance, I was alerted to a letter of one-year suspension that was handed over to me by the department. My heart started beating as if it was dancing hip hop. I didn’t cry neither was laughing. I definitely won’t laugh at that moment even at the most amusing joke in the world. The one thing I did was to stay strong. Though I was pained and felt terrible, I did not show it. My friends were astonished at my response. They tried to console me but my attitude showed it was not necessary. I remembered one of them asking me questions to find out why it seemed like I was not perturbed. I can say God gave me the strength to stand in the storm for one year without being consumed by it. I utilized the one year in my favor and I can say all is good now to the glory of God.
- The first one is that pray you don’t experience such a twist of fate
- If ever you do, you need to understand that life gives us tests at times that we must write ourselves: no other person would write it for you. The purpose of the test is not to kill you but to make you come out stronger
- Make sure you are completely right before you take a case against someone. A case may turn against you if you are not careful enough.
Note: Ignorance or negligence is not an excuse before the law. - Last but not least is always do well to forgive offenders. Part of the reason I was able to go through the situation was that I didn’t hold any grievance against anyone. I bumped into one of those guys at the gym sometime later; we lifted weights together without any weight in the heart because I had settled issues with him in a discussion we had on the day of the exam (after the exam)
"It's okay to cry, it's okay to even get tired but it's not okay to quit. After the night comes the morning"
I invite @richben, @chamman & @wiltford to take part in the contest.
Thank you for reading and stay strong

It must have been a very difficult situation. Sometimes we can be accused of things we haven't done and our actions can backfire. The positive part is that in the end you were able to overcome it.
I would like to invite you to participate in the next #spud4steem, invest and strengthen your account =D.

Sad... why no one stood from admin for you, to clarify that you are not an impersonator?

A huge possibility that was, but not until the paper was seen in my pocket
