This afternoon I spent a little time before dusk around the rice fields of the village where I live just to do some macrophotography shots of the insects around the rice fields.

The afternoon was so sunny with the atmosphere on the outskirts of the rice fields with a gentle breeze that made me excited to do some photo shoots around the rice fields.

Here you can see some macro photography shots of the insect Leptocorisa oratorius Fabricius which is a herbivorous insect or leaf-eating insect commonly found in rice plants.

In Indonesia this insect is called by name walang sangit (Leptocorisa oratorius Fabricius, (Hemiptera: Alydidae); syn. Leptocorisa acuta) is an insect that is an important pest in cultivated crops, especially rice. In Indonesia, these insects are called: kungkang (Sundanese), pianggang (Sumatra), and calm (Madura). [1] This animal is easily recognized by its elongated shape, measuring about 2 cm, gray-brown, and has a "trunk" (proboscis) to suck plant fluids. Walang sangit is a member of the Hemiptera order (true ladybugs).Walang sangit, sucking plant fluids from flower stalks (paniculae) and also rice fruit juice which is still in the mature stage of milk, causing plants to lack nutrients and turn yellow (chlorosis), and slowly weaken. The name of this animal denotes a form of self-defense, which is to give off a strong odor (hence the name "stink"). In fact, it is not only the stink bug that gives off this scent, but also many other Alydidae members.source
