Before I go deeper, I wanna show us everything about steemit from the root. What is Steemit??

Now, I want us to go with the definition of STEEMIT according to Wikipedia

Steemit is a blockchain-based blogging and social media website, which rewards its users with the cryptocurrency STEEM for publishing and curating content, and is owned by Steemit Inc., a privately held company based in New York City and a headquarters in Virginia. source

Knowing steemit to be a strategical and exceptional platform that rewads it users for publishing quality contents, let's look into some STEEMIT platform terms and how it works in order to get ourselves much more familiarize with the platform.

How does STEEM work?

We all use cryptocurrencies, like Bitcoin and ethereum. Steemit is also a form of cryptocurrency, a digital currency; It can be traded, sold and exchanged in crypto exchanges for Fiat currencies or other cryptocurrencies.

A lot of cryptocurrencies allow mining of it coins, mostly others in different ways. In case of STEEM, the currency is created by the network every day and is distributed to the people who upvote and curate content on the platform.

For the users to earn more rewards in the STEEMIT platform, you have to involve yourself in the STEEMIT activity daily and regularly.

How is STEEM different from other cryptocurrencies?

Steemit is more like other blockchain systems but it's uniquely different, having three different units.

STEEM

This is the real digital currency, sold in exchanges for Fiat currencies and other cryptocurrencies. Just like the way Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are being traded, but it's good for an individual to hold it for a short period of time.

STEEM Power

STEEM Power is a long-term investment that adds to your influence in the STEEMIT platform. The more your steem power grows(SP), the more your influence in the system. As the system continues to grow so will be your share.

STEEM Dollars

These currency units value never lowers down. They are stable and can be sold at anytime. When a user creates a post, they get 50% of their reward in in steem dollars.

If you sell the STEEM Dollars after a certain period, you will get the reward just like STEEM Power but not of same value as that of STEEM Power.

How do we get this steem

They are two major ways of acquiring steem coin:

1. Buy it from cryptocurrency exchanges like ShapeShift, Bittrex, Poloniex, etc.
2. Earn it by posting content, commenting sharing, networking on the STEEMIt platform.

The Importance of the Steem Value

Unlike other social media platforms where we post pictures, motivational quotes, product info, etc. But on Steem, the key is value.

Since there is a monetary reward, users are more selective with what content they upvote. Additionally, the effect of downvotes coming from users holding a lot of Steem Power is amplified.

As a member of the Steem community, What improvement would you like to see on the social platform Steemit.com?

Before answering this question, I will like to explain more things in details to both old and new members.

What is a Blockchain Social Media?

In my own knowledge, A Blockchain Social Media are platforms built on blockchain technology that allows users to communicate and publish, and also, get rewarded for quality published article.

These decentralized social media platforms enable end-to-end encryptions for every interaction. Moreover, similar to the Blockchain ecosystems, they usually have features like native currency used for:

in-platform transactions
rewarding users
crowdfunding
With this basic understanding of blockchain social networks.

Now to the initial question, What improvement would i like to see on the social platform Steemit.com?

Talking about improvement, I would love to see three main features added to this platform and I will give a detailed reason for each of them.
Chat option.
Allow users create their desired passwords.

This is one major feature that every social media platform have, steemit shouldn't be an exceptional. Steemit needs something like this to help simplify our communication.

Through this means, users can easily interact with one another, there by causing the following to happen:

private messages within users.

More newbies can now communicate easily to admins/moderators concerning any issue.

For me, the steemit social media platform wilI be highly improve if the chat option is implemented.

Something that will truly aid communication and ease users complain to admins.

Allow users create their desired passwords.

It is no doubt that STEEMIT is strongly secured, in and out. The idea of generating keys for users is truly am amazing one.

This as made sure that the issue of hacking of accounts is minimal. In fact, I have never heard or seen someone complaining about their accounts being hacked.

But slot of things does happens. A lot of people had had issue with their login in. The disadvantages of this is much, they are;

What if a user lost his/her phone without saving the keys in another place?

What happens if I mistakenly wipe the file? Remember such things happens, we are not perfect.

Another thing is that even during registration, if you have a poor Network connection, you hardly download the keys. Sometimes, it doesn't if get downloaded, and that's how you will just loss everything when the page redirects.

Here in Nigeria, we normally encounter this type of challenges.

Which other features, tools, improvements, and functionalities do you believe will benefit the user experience and improve the usability of the Steemit.com social platform?

In this section, everything I have to explain has been explained above.
But I also want to add to it, the issue of incorrect transactions.

I was with a steemit friend (@emmynice01) three months ago. He was a complete victim of this transaction issue.

He made a transfer of 68STEEM coins to @roqqulovesteem, without putting the memo. I'm fully aware that this is built on Blockchain, but something very vital can be done.

This was all because of the inability of we, the users to access costumer services. He chatted the roqqu exchange costumer, but they said they couldn't do anything.

I am very confident that STEEMIT can do something because we checked the account and saw the transactions detail.

It's more like sending steem of the wrong account, but you know the owner of the account, but no way to get it back.

Something vital should be done about it. Thank you all

If you are the owner or manager of a Steem community, tell us more about what you believe will improve the "Communities" update and its management system.

Creating a good community depends on how it members communicate and interact with each other.

As an owner of a community, I will make sure I put these things in place to make sure I have high users engagements and participations in the community.

1. Weekly contests
2. Daily report on best posts
3. Daily report on best posts based on Continents (like best post from users in Africa, Asia, America, Europe... Etc)
4. Daily contest that last for 24hours.
5. Best moderator, monthly.

All these can increase the rate of engagements in a community and ensure great participations in all activities.
