CONTEST: Learning to cope with difficult times by @cachetes-27
When we have some difficulty or some obstacle in the way, we usually take for understood, it is already a "difficult situation ", are very few times, which we take the time to look at all aspects in which the given situation influences.
The pandemic has been and is the best example of this, with the passage of time, people have declined too much and have stopped doing what they really like, because they are simply waiting for things to improve, and that everything returns to normal, from my point of view, we must evolve and adapt, learn to cope with the situation despite what affects us globally.
What activity do you do to relax?
I am characterized by being a very anxious person so any event usually generates stress for me. For example if I'm going out for a day, I have to have absolutely everything planned, from the time I get up to the time I get back.
A few months ago, I started Team Mango Bolivar, at the beginning I considered this a spur of the moment idea, however, today I can say that this is my relaxation activity, although I see it as a job, I can refer to it, as my "safe place ", where I can be calm, clear my mind and do what I like.
How long have you been doing it?
The initiative to do good deeds started in 2017, when I started to be part of the Scouts of Venezuela Association. I can really say that this event marked a before and after in my life. Right there I understood how nice it is to help other people and do a good deed every day.
When the pandemic began, for obvious reasons the group I was attending stopped doing activities, but I still had the restlessness and that is when in March of this year, I took up again the fact of participating in volunteer activities.
What benefits have you obtained from this type of activity?
The truth is that the simple fact of reaching every home leaves us a very good teaching, it has allowed me to grow as a person, to see things from a different perspective. Having the agility to organize everything also comes by itself, as well as learning to solve with what you have as you work.
I have learned leadership and even to be more responsible and punctual, to work as a team, to know how to solve conflicts that may arise is an essential point in this. Also knowing how to formalize alliances and reach mutual agreements to continue our work, among many other things.
Do you recommend this activity to relieve stress?
Yes, I do. But I can also tell you that you will learn to be strong, and it is something that is helping me a lot. I'm usually very sentimental, but there are cases in which the heart gets so small that it's inevitable not to want to change that reality.
Even so, you learn something in each attention that can serve you unconsciously in your day to day, and be sure that there will be many people who will be fond of you, the truth is almost impossible to change the world, but my favorite hobby is to change the world of each person who really deserves much more than what life offers them.
Tell us about any experience or advice you have about this activity.
There is one case in particular that became my favorite. It is about a grandfather who is blind, he lives alone so far we don't know exactly where his family is. The interesting thing is that he knows too much and usually does things all by himself.
I see it as a life motivation, because many times we limit ourselves not to do something for the simple fact of not getting out "of our comfort zone ", because we get used to the easy and routine, when he, despite his visual impairment, has the ability to be self-sufficient to do his daily household chores, besides being a very loving and empathetic person.
