Wow. Beautiful initiative. It's not going to be easy convincing people but it's worth the try. At least you experienced it when @focusnow invited you to join the blockchain.

It is my initiative but if we do it out of love to extend help to others, even if we don't hit 1k, we can be close to that.
It is a contest out of love.
I agree with you. 1k is quite a lot. The question is not about the number of people who are recruited but the number of people recruited that will stay.
If they don't really understand the blockchain, maybe they think it's a get rich quick scheme, they'll be fraustrated and leave.
If your application gets accepted, you should seek assistance from a few people who would help you make daily and detailed tutorials on the dos and donts in the blockchain.
Knowledge of the will either help them have fun and engage with others or if they can't keep up with it, they would leave.
Then for those that are forced to leave because of the inevitable things of life, you would know at heart they had a great passion for the blockchain.

The recruiters will follow up on their newbies to build them up.
Then there will be a track system to know which newbie is active.
