UNDERSTANDING BEFORE CRITICISM 30% to @steemingcuration

Right thinking they say always precedes right actions and if we tend to think right and understand others from their own perspective, we will become less judgemental and treat people better.

The young man you said was dull and even called him an illiterate and promised never to buy anything from him simply because he couldn't spell your name on your receipt correctly was a bright young man at a tender age and one of the best in his class but lost his parents early in life and was forced to drop out of school.

He probably cannot spell your name but he is sacrificing his own education and paying the school fees of two of his younger siblings so that they can spell your name properly tomorrow

You see that young lady whom you called a "bush girl" about a couple of days ago simply because she used a spoon that her friend used in eating without washing it. Meanwhile to her, using a spoon at all is some form of civilisation because she grew up eating with her bare hands and only saw people eating with spoons immediately she got to the city.

The young man you see with tattoos all over his body, wearing ear rings and dreadlocks, who you think is the son of the devil just might be a saint from a community and family where everyone smokes weed and take cocaine but he chose to be different and despite his tattoos, dread and ear rings, he refused to smoke.

You called that woman a whore simply because she is barren and childless but unknown to you, she was the most decent young girl while growing up but circumstances and fate led to her losing her womb because she was involved in an accident while carrying a 6 months old baby.

Before you start scolding that housekeeper you brought from the village to the city for putting just a single piece of meat in your plate of food, ask some questions. You just might be shocked to discover that to her, that's being wasteful and greedy because she feels even that single piece of meat she added for you (because of its size) should have been cut into four or five pieces for some four or five adults to eat with.

Again, it's none of her fault. Probably they hardly ever have meat to eat on a regular and even when they have to, it's once in a purple moon

Friends, perspective they say, is the key to live. We would react differently and not judge others when we tend to understand who they are and see things from their own perspective.

So next time, before you call that young lady a name simply because of the character and trait she exhibited, learn to find out the reason for such, see to it if that person is doing it our of ignorance or negligence and see to it if such an individual is willing to change and ready to take correction.

You just might be changing a life and saving a soul rather than condemning one.
