Current Open Beta Is Just the First Step

For the last six weeks or so a beta site for Steem Communities has been up and running. At first a closed beta, it has been open for a few weeks now for anyone to use and test out.

When released, Communities on Steem will be accessible through a Communities tab on Steemit.com. Other front ends will be able to make them accessible through theirs as well.

If you would like to have a look at the original concepts for Communities visit this github. You’ll get a better sense of the discussion.

It was a great conversation with @roadscape who has been the driving force behind Communities. I learned a lot and saw the same expressed by members of the audience. Some also expressed they were feeling a lot more excitement about them.

What we are currently seeing on the beta is just the first steps. More is coming and some exciting possibilities are clearly to come.
