Malware scam hits crypto wallet transfers

A Reddit user has warned cryptocurrency investors to take extra care with transfers.

After copying a wallet address using the in-built Coinbase copy function, he pasted the address into Binance and made the transfer. What he didn't realize was that somewhere between the copy and paste malware had changed the destination wallet address.

It is a wakeup call to all of us. Malware can creep in anywhere, browser extensions are particularly vulnerable, so consider dedicating an extension-free browser such as Vivaldi to your crypto trades, and check your devices for malware regularly.
