Canon has introduced a wearable camera that automatically captures photos or videos by timing and framing people using machine learning algorithms.

In recent years, machine learning algorithms have become ubiquitous in photography, and in fact, even a simple photograph taken on a modern smartphone in automatic mode is the result of processing a cascade of algorithms.

But almost all of these algorithms play the role of assistants, and the decision about what and when to shoot remains with the person.

In 2017, Google introduced a camera with a different approach: it was attached to clothes or interior items and took photos itself at those moments that machine learning algorithms considered the most successful.

The camera cannot be called successful, though. After a year and a half it was retired from the market and since then the company has not released its successor.

Canon has now introduced the PowerShot PX, which has taken the same general approach with a slightly different approach.

The main difference from the Clips is that the PowerShot PX can rotate 340 degrees horizontally and tilt 110 degrees, and it also has an optical zoom.

Thanks to this, the camera can be placed on a table, closet or other place, and it will adjust its field of view taking into account where people are

Also, the camera can recognize familiar people and allows you to set priority faces in the application.

The new camera also has the ability to shoot videos, not just photos.

In addition to working in automatic mode, it allows you to take pictures at a particular moment, for this you can use the application on your smartphone or voice control on the camera itself.

In addition to algorithms that select the best moment to shoot, there are also algorithms in the application that select the best shots among the ones taken.

The camera resolution is 11.7 megapixels and the video resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels.

If necessary, the camera can be connected to a computer and used as a webcam. It’s price is round 450 dollars.
