Man must be crazy ?

Good day follow steemians of the great @ zero-to-infinity community. I can bet that we all drunk water today which is good for our health.I hear doctors are saying we should drink about three litters of water each day inorder to stay alive and live healthy.Im sure most of us even go beyond that.It is still mind boggling why there is so much water on earth and some parts of the world unfortunately are suffering from water scarcity. Today i will take you through what we are doing wrong as humans that is leading to this consequences.

The earth in which we live today is 70 percent covered with water.which there is more water than land which is the reason is the earth is sometimes called the water world.There is water in rivers,seas ,estuaries,lakes ,dams and Underground.This tells us that water is everywhere,how to get the water to satisfy our need and wants is a problem for us especially we those living in developing countries

We normally get water from two sources which is either from the ground or the surfaces of the earth .
The major of water to our homes is from the surface sources is the river.The Ghana water and many African countries water treatments facilities makes use of the surface water.In that they get the water from the river treat it and pump it into our homes

Normally the water from the river is always very dirty water a lot of particles, sediments, plastics and microbial organisms that we cannot see.The water we get fromour homes which we assume is clean is not .And here is the reason why.The water company of Ghana and many developing countries pass the water through some physical treatment processes to remove the impurities.But the unfortunate thing is that methods only treat the water physically not chemicals.The only make sure the physical properties of quality water is maintained ,which include the colour ,cleanliness and turbidity. The good thing about this treatment method is the addition of chlorine which kills the microorganisms found in the water even we are able to do this we are not able to treat heavy which might be found in the water.
Day in day the water company has been fighting people who practice sandwining activities close to the river in which we get our water.This a activities washes sand into the river when it rains making it shallow.And also farming activities along the river banks might lead to the washing down chemical fertilisers into river when it rains .This can lead to nutrients pollution.

To follow this process before we get water for personal use man must be crazy somehow. There is something wrong with us human beings.

Because i don't understand why we would allow water to fall on our roofs ,fall on the grounds ,forests ,mining sites and landfill sites, then from the ground it carries a whole lot of particles like rubbers ,oils ,fertilisers from farms and other waste products.The most disgusting part is that in my part of the world is a rampant open defecation.
You can imagine the rain water carrying all this faecal matter in our rivers,lakes ,seas and estuaries.
Then we now go to those places for water ,with all the particles it carried from different runoff points before it finally came to the river.Then we now go to the river and other surface water sources to fetch water.

The best we could have done is harvest the rainwater directly from the sky.Which according to science is one of the purest water.We can build underground reservoirs or barrels in homes from the roof.If could aleast practice this we can relatively clean water ,which is free from chlorination , you could conserve water and save a little money from water bills.

This method can be of enormous benefit to place with iron pan underground which makes it impossible to get ground water.When we able to channel the rainwater to underground reservoirs and storage which is good for sponge cities and towns,I think it would go a long way to prevent the maladies of flood that we experience each year during the raining season.
