Prelude

We, the individuals of Bangladesh, having broadcasted our autonomy on the 26th day of Walk, 1971 and through 2[a memorable battle for public liberation], set up the autonomous, sovereign Individuals' Republic of Bangladesh;

3[Pledging that the high beliefs of patriotism, communism, majority rules system and secularism, which enlivened our courageous individuals to commit themselves to, and our bold saints to forfeit their lives in, the public freedom battle, will be the crucial standards of the Constitution;]

Further promising that it will be an essential point of the State to acknowledge through the popularity based cycle a communist society, liberated from abuse a general public in which the standard of law, crucial basic liberties and opportunity, fairness and equity, political, monetary and social, will be made sure about for all residents;

Asserting that it is our consecrated obligation to shield, secure and safeguard this Constitution and to keep up its incomparability as the encapsulation of the desire of the individuals of Bangladesh so we may thrive in opportunity and may make our full commitment towards global harmony and co activity with regards to the reformist yearnings of humankind;

In our Constituent Get together, this eighteenth day of Kartick, 1379 B.S., relating to the fourth day of November, 1972 A.D., do thus embrace, order and provide for ourselves this Constitution.
