Grasshoppers, insects of the genus Silifera belonging to the genus Orthoptera. They are also sometimes called small horned grasshoppers to distinguish them from crickets and catidids. Locusts are species of grasshoppers that can change color and usage depending on population density.

The body of the grasshopper is made of chitin-shaped exterior skeleton. It has a three-limbed body (head, chest and abdomen), three pairs of articulated legs, complex clusters carrying three straight eyes, one pair of antennae (antennae). And that is why they are called grasshoppers.

They live by eating green leaves of trees, newly sprouted herbs, soft parts of grass etc. For all these reasons they love to live on green grass, herbs.

Another important fact about them is that they can fly up to 15 kilometers a day.

So far, about 20,000 species of grasshoppers have been identified in the world and 8 species of grasshoppers in Bangladesh Common species include Schistocerca americana, Romalea microptera, and Poekilocerus pictus.
