My participation on Butterfly contest

Everyone enjoys gazing at the beauty of a butterfly but no-one seems to think about the changes it went through to achieve its beauty. Butterflies aren't born with the good looks we are accustomed to see it in. They start their lives as small insects named caterpillar. After emerging from the egg all they do is eat. They eat until they are grown strong enough to start sewing their cacoon. Caccon is a type of isolated cover for the caterpillar to grow in to a butterfly. This stage is called the chrysalis stage. Inside the cacoon the insect goes through a miraculous transformation. After that a young butterfly emerges from the cacoon and gently opens up its wings to dry. Lastly when their wings dry up they fly from flower to flower, from garden to garden looking for its life partner. Most of the butterflies don't live two weeks. So they need to migrate and prepare the next generation of butterflies. In their short life time they pollinate plants and helps to grow fruits and crops. They may be fragile but their lives holds our ecosystem together. In some culture butterflies represents hope, endurance and life. The next time you see a butterfly dont just admire its beauty admire its worth for our environment also.
