What is Telescope

A telescope is an optical instrument that uses a lens or a curved mirror.It is used to observe distant objects by reflecting electromagnetic radiation using a lens.Its main function is to widen distant objects using different devices.The word telescope comes from the ancient Greek words teli 'far' and scapes 'to see'.

What is it used for?

The first telescope was invented by Hans Lipersch in 1608. In 1609 Galileo Galilei invented a telescope for observing distant stars.He got the idea to make this device from a spectacle maker.The spectacle maker noticed one day that the distant wind direction detector was magnified by looking at the stationary lens system installed in his shop.Galileo observed Jupiter's satellite and Saturn's ring through his telescope.In 1611 Johannes Kepler invented a telescope that resembled an astronomer's telescope.Until then there was the era of refraction telescopes.In 1733, James Gregory made an achromatic doublet objective, which greatly improved the reflection telescope.

The reflection telescope was invented by James Gregory.Isaac Newton also invented a reflection telescope.In a reflection telescope like this, it is possible to use a mirror where the lens is used in place of the object, because the mirror reflects light of all colors in exactly the same way.The mirrors used in place of the object of large-sized telescopes are elliptical.The diameter of the mirror used in the objective of the telescope at Palmer Observatory in the United States is 500 cm.

Microwaves use wavelengths that are longer than infrared light
