Bangladesh Television (BTV) is a government television company in Bangladesh. It started broadcasting in black and white on December 25, 1984. At that time it was known as Pakistan Television. After the liberation war, its name was changed to its present name. It started broadcasting in color in 1980. Its main broadcasting center is located in Rampura area of ​​Dhaka city. The first television sub-station of Bangladesh was set up outside Dhaka in 1974 at Natore. It also has a local broadcasting center in Pahartali area of ​​Chittagong city. In 2004, BTV set up a satellite channel called BTV World for worldwide broadcasting.
