Clogmia albipunctata

This fly is often seen around damp areas and due to their small nature, they often seem not to be performing any activity. I have never had such a close view of this insect though they often stick on the walls of our bathroom. Their body is water resistant and this up lose shot shows the insect has things that looks like hair and the wings reflects different colours of light. I was more attracted to its antenna. Capturing this insect was not as stressful when compared with the other insects I captured.

Aranha caseira

This spider was hunting around the house when I found it and requested for a photo shot. Jumping around was clear evidence that the spider was not in the mode for taking pictures. In would come close and jump on any small insects and it's attacks has often been successful. This eight legged Arthropod moves by jumping and when it feels cornered, it makes very long leaps.

Libellula luctuosa

The black Widow Skimmer dragonfly has some sections of wings transparent and the fact that it always is at high alert made it hard to get a clean shot of the insect. But this was close enough to capture some hairlike structures on the body of the dragonfly.
It is said that they are so good at flying that they can capture their prey in midflight. Dragonflies have two pair of wings and can fly sidewards, backwards and the usual forward flight. Their eggs are layed in deep stagnant water.

Schistocerca nitens

The Gray Bird Grasshopper has a brown colour with some gray spots. This species is mostly found in America and Central Africa. They can be destructive to flowers and crops. It is treated as an invasive species in some parts of Hawaii.
It used it's compressed hind legs to leap and can fly. To get a close shot of the grasshopper was not easy.
