Greetings friends of steemit! today I share with you a story of when I traveled to Panama a few years ago! and I was able to know the navigation Canal that joins the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, it was a dream for me to visit that country and one of the most important engineering works in the world.
I tell you that I managed to get to Panama on the second attempt to get to the country because of problems between my country Venezuela and Panama at that time I could not enter on the scheduled date, and not to lose the ticket I used it and ended up traveling to Mexico, but this is a topic for another post, because after 6 months and an unexpected trip I could finally go to my favorite destination.
Once there I was shopping with some relatives, who actually had no great interest in visiting the canal so we arranged for the last day to go there, in the hotel we had booked a tour that was going to take us to different sites, but at the last minute had a problem with logistics so they were not going to make the tour that day, as it was our last day in the country we decided to cancel our reservation, and without tour service we went to a shopping center, thinking that I would not be able to make my longed visit, however there, I saw some cab drivers and asked if at that time (it was about 10 in the morning*) there was a chance to get to the canal, and they told us that if we left at once it would be possible.
After an unexpected walk there I was at the Miraflores Locks, where I learned about the difficult journey that represented the construction of the canal due to the effects of diseases, in its museum I could see representations of the machinery used in its construction and finally I had the opportunity to see a ship pass through the locks. I felt small next to those monumental ships and at the same time happy to know the canal.
