The Awami League, the largest political party led by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, won the national seat and majority in East Pakistan in the 1970 general election of President Yahya Khan. Continue fighting until the last army of the Pakistani occupying forces is driven out of Bengal and a final victory is achieved."

With this declaration of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Bengalis jumped into the war to liberate their country.

26 march is our independence Day it is a biggest state festival. The day is celebrated every year in the country with get enthusiasm and farvour. All types of offices, shops and factories in educational institutions are closed on this day. The day begins with 31 gun salute. Early in the morning, the President and the Prime Minister laid a wreath on behalf of the nation at the National Memorial in Savar. Then other leaders, political parties, diplomats, socio-cultural organizations, educational institutions And the freedom fighters paid homage to the martyrs.
