Ireland Saint Martin is a small island in the northeast of the Bay of Bengal, about 9 km south of the tip of the Bazar Tecnaf Cox Peninsula, which forms the southernmost tip of Bangladesh.
There is a nearby small island divided by flooding called Chera Dwip. It is located at the mouth of Naf River, about 8 km west coast of Myanmar.

Thousands of years ago, the island was an extension of the Teknap Peninsula, but later parts of this peninsula sank, and, accordingly, the southernmost tip of the peninsula became an island and was expelled from the mainland of Bangladesh.
The first settlements were founded by Arab merchants who called the island "Jajira" in the 18th century, 250 years ago.

During the British occupation, the island was located in the area of ​​St. Martin Chita Gong, deputy director, then male name. Perhaps because one or more of the Arabs are already adults and their names cannot be identified. The Other name of the island 🏝️ is Narikel Jinjira, that means Coconut Island.
It is the only coral island in Bangladesh.

Martina Resort Hotel on St. Petersburg Island from 1989 to 2004, only Bangladeshi citizens and foreigners were not allowed to enter the island. However, this has changed and housing is now allowed in Bangladesh. Ireland St. Martins has become a tourist destination with 5 ships sailing to the island every day. Tourists can book tours to Chittagong or Cox's Bazar. The surrounding coral reef has an annex called Chera Duip.
There is a small bush that is the only green part. Tourists are advised to go early and return during the day, as this part is not populated by people. Various attempts have been proposed to protect the endangered species of turtles and coral reefs that inhabit the island. Some of the corals are only found in Narickel Ginger.
Take out fragments of coral reefs for sale to tourists. Nesting turtles are sometimes eaten and hatched.

The best weather is usually from November to February. This is an important tourist season. Typhoons can occur from March to July. The island was destroyed by a typhoon in 1991, but was completely rebuilt and was not damaged by the 2004 tsunami. March-July is not a season for tourists.
